Lois from the day 1, was always meant to be Managing Partner. He was already handling associates. He was their parent in some sense. Managing Partner was the only logical arc for him. It’s just that he needed his time and character arc to really develop. Harvey on the other hand liked to be on the field all the time as hotshot experienced lawyer. But that’s just it. You can’t manage and be a proper field lawyer at the same time. Even Jessica knew that, and she embraced being the Manager. Harvey was never able to.
@Editor_Hound7 ай бұрын
Louis was definitely senior partner material from the first episode. Indeed, his character development was always leading him to be name partner and possibly managing partner, although I believe the firm would've been better off with Jessica still managing. Harvey's gunslinger style is not really managing partner material. I mean sure, we see him soften up in terms of personal interactions as a character development, but his MO still remained gunslinger even in the latter seasons.

The more i rewatch this show/clips on youtube, the more I realize Harvey is the main lead, and Mike was the secondary lead. Used to think it was the dynamic duo as co-lead, but no, Harvey is the main lead.

The moment Jessica left is when the firm went kaboom. As awesome as Harvey and Mike are, they're not managing partner material. They're gunslingers. Butch and Sundance. Jessica was the real MVP that kept that firm together. Robert Zane was also a great managing partner. Now, I'm no lawyer, but I would venture to say in the real world a stable firm leadership would be in the mold as Jessica managing partner, Louis(later seasons version) and Harvey as name partners.
