Harvey is actually a great friend here. To lose Mike would badly hurt him emotionally but he's putting Mike's interests above seeing him every day and enjoying his friendship. They are rolling the dice every day that Mike stays here so to leave removes that risk entirely. It's a killer emotionally but it protects all of them.

Man the mix of emotions on Harvey's face , the way he asks questions to Mike in quick succession as if to rip off a painful band aid and get it done with and not show that he needs Mike is just brilliant .

You can tell just by judging from Mike’s face, he wanted desperately for Harvey to say not to take the offer.

I found this scene to be very tense. I feel like Harvey was saying one thing but was screaming internally. He so didn't want Mike to leave but was saying what he felt was in Mike's best interest. Gabriel was just so fantastic in this scene conveying that underlying meloncholy.

I really wish they would have spent more time on Mike working for Sidwell and shown some positive transactions. The first scene with the two of them was Mike getting reemed for underperforming which just put this air of desperation behind everything he did afterwards.

One of the many instances Harvey proves he truly cares about Mike and loves him like a little brother. Love is doing what's best for them, even if it hurts you. He'd rather Mike stay, but it was in Mike's best interest to go legit, so that's what he advised him to do.

This makes absolutely no sense to me, with the story Mike has and the connections to top alumnus (of virtually every modern year) he’s gotten, Harvard would take him in a heart beat (regardless of wether he cheated or not). It’s not like Harvard would be taking a risk with him either, he’s already passed the bar and he’s already been a top lawyer in a top city. At this point all he needs Harvard for is the name.
@richardnguyen15203 жыл бұрын
While this makes sense for everybody, academic institutions are fussy about integrity. Fraudulent practice isn't something any school will hang their name on. Harvard doesn't need to stick its neck out for Mike.
@doreeneb3 жыл бұрын
Never gonna happen lol. And institution like Harvard wouldn't take Mike on considering his cheating before and fraud afterwards. No reason for their name to be associated with him. As the poster above said, Harvard doesn't need Mike so no need for them to stick their necks out for him and mess with their 'integrity' (even though we know that under the surface, there's shadiness lol).
@realmdarkness3 жыл бұрын
@@doreeneb Agreed. Remember the reactions to the celebrity child bribery scandal in 2019? It was a shitshow and shows that academic institutions don't want to deal with bad press. Plus, if Harvard got investigated, they'd have to cover for Mike presenting himself as a lawyer this whole time, because he's already done the crime and committed more crimes to cover it up
