Congratulations on getting your first ever win! Moray did pretty well at this event and the bot is definitely showing improvement.

Congratulations on the sparky award! I plan on watching your new video soon, it looks like another interesting design

Great recap! I use 2-3mm uhmw for my front armor. It can be self fabricated with heavy duty scissors or metal snips and a drill. It can be heat set into shape using a heat gun. It is sacrificial armor that lasts pretty long and can take a hit.

Good to know. I might try that for a future event

Moray did pretty and is definitely showing improvement. The only thing I would suggest is to use aluminum or titanium wedges.

If you screw static forks to the front sides of the chassis, that will slightly squish to the floor and be a very effective ground game without the need for being hinged. Also, you can save lots of weight by printing your own wheel hubs and keeping them on with shaft collars, this could go into a possible TPU wedge, or a wider chassis design for less gyro effects. Awesome job so far, love the improvements!

I’ve already designed TPU hubs and I’m working on a TPU wedge as well. Static forks are a great idea

For mounting brushed motors, a good way to do it is to design a feature in the chassis that hugs the flat sides of the motor itself. Great improvement so far!

Nice job with both wins! Huge improvements from your first even. I cant wait to see how you improve Moray before your next event!

Is your chassis printed in tpu?

Yes, I use TPU

PLA is very brittle on impacts. Try TPU 85A, TPU 95A, or if you prefer stiff materials PLA+. If you can make weight you could even do 1 steel fork from SendCutSend (AR500 is my fave), or 2 aluminum forks (7075 is best, 6061 is acceptable but you should go for 7075 if possible).

I already printed some TPU forks for the new version and they seem to work great

You are Pretty Good but you really need some Meta weal cards

you should use metal forks

I reali like horizontals soooooo I know the counter, and the best one is "big stupid wedge" so I recomand bit longer aluminium plates thets act like wedges but be carefull because thet will deflect the shot to your whapon thet maight cause it to brake of or destroy your motor (alsow get stronger mounts to your motors but I gues you know thet)
@Morayrobotics2322 күн бұрын
I made a big TPU wedge for the next version of the robot to try and absorb some of the hits instead of deflecting them. It might not work well but it should be an improvement
