Has Pittsburgh Steelers George Pickens Gone Too Far?

Pickens isn’t even close to the production and value AB brought to the team he may of been hard to manage but he always showed up and did his job. Pickens wants superstar treatment and hasn’t done anything yet.

Much as I've liked him and wanted to pull for him since we drafted him, now I'm starting to wonder if he has IT (for the edification of the housestaff, what it means to be a Pittsburgh Steeler); if not, it's the same issue with Diontae Johnson, Kenny Picket, and Chuks Okorafor. The ball's in his court (and hopefully in his hands) so he can prove himself; it's all on the line.

Pickens questionably looked like he had bricks for hands but yet he makes circus catches all the time hmmmm, don’t want to say it but I’m surely thinking it out loud did he sell the farm on those drops or was it just so cold that he couldn’t grip the ball 🤔

They can get a 2nd Rd for him possibly a 1st but not many teams will do this . Pickens takes things too far without even having accomplished a whole lot. The best thing to do is trade him and start over. Pickett didn't feed him the ball like he wanted , Fields didn't feed him the ball like he wanted. Wilson tried but he didn't go to the next level with a veteran QB. Pickens can make great catches but maybe his route running and separating skills isn't what it needs to be.

When was the last time you saw GP drop one pass let alone 3 in a row? I think he's not happy where and wants out. What a better way to make a team cut you so you can be free than to deliberately perform poorly. He would never admit it, of course, but I believe GP deliberately dropped those passes. In that case, he has to go. I'm so sick of the Primadonna head case wide receivers that have been part of the Steeler organization from Plaxico Burress to Mike Wallace, to Santonio Holmes, to Antonio Brown, to Chase Claypool, to Dionte Johnson, and now GP. I'm done!!!

How long are projected but not yet established supposed future Superstars coddled. There are a lot of talented college players that would dream to be in those positions. The professional ranks are for players that are highly skilled and willing to work hard at improving their trade craft. I get so tired of hearing excuses once someone reaches the professional level. When you are hired as a professional you are expected to be professional. You may have room to sharpen your trade butt at bare minimum you are a professional getting paid a lot of money while others are paying a lot of money to attend to see you performing at your profession. If you can't meet the minimum demands of being a professional in whatever field you're in you do not deserve to be there and should be immediately removed before you affect others in your company or on your team.

Another diva WR not receptive to Tomlins easy coaching style. AB never quit on the steelers. Ever. Pickens did full dionte 3 times this season alone. With the steelers having a history of trading with the jets send him there to see what adversarial media really is.

I kinda feel bad for GP. He is not helping himself and I think he is trying to be but he cant. He cant help being mercurial and a hot head. He tries not to say things in the media ( see the interviews where he pulled the mask over his mouth when he heard that Russ blamed him for the pick and when he said he is there to not get fined.) But he cant keep his head in the game like when he yells at fans, fights other players. or seemingly quits once every 3 games. I put a lot of this on Tomlin. He has other options but wont play them or to their strengths to lessen GP.

Yes gone to far per little productions to the Steelers. He runs routes lazy and has multiple drops. You do not see this behavior all the time with other teams at the WR position. This is a problem due to the pattern of behavior with the Steelers vs other teams. Fans are sick of it. Tyrek Hill is an Hall of Famer so there is production with him and he made Tua great. Tua is an average QB. JJ made Sam good. GP is developing bad habits that can not be erased per muscle memory. GP wants to be Influencer just like Chase and JUJU. What has GP done for the Steelers? The Steelers have a long list of unproductive WR 's who flame out elsewhere. I do not count AB in the discussion because he gave his all on the field until his behavior was too much. We have not had good WR's after AB. We could have had Brian Thomas who is number 3 in NFL production with poor QB play. I think that Tomlin is too suborn to draft good men at this position like Chase, Higgins, Justin Jefferson, Brian Thomas and the list goes on. It is a Mike Tomlin problem because he is not doing his job which requires him to lead all men, prepare men for battle, game plan not be a savior to these head cases. How can he coach with all the distractions? He is going outside of his job in trying to be a savior and counselor and friend all the time so these guys do not respect him at all. It is a privilege to play in the NFL so it is not fair to the men who are doing good. What WR has tried to fight the fans in the middle of the game? Shannon and Chad are right about GP. He is not worth the headache.

Yeah we had a bad stretch, but we still clinched the playoffs before a lot of teams.. made the playoffs back to back after Big Ben I mean look at the Patriots bruh .. 3 SB APPEARANCES IN THE LAST 20 YEARS.. I’m pretty happy as a Steeler fan. I wouldn’t change nothing over to past 20years .. yeah I wish we won more.. but so does everyone else .. and we won more than anyone besides the Chiefs and Patriots .. so no matter what this season I enjoyed I went to five games and damn they had a party for every game I did didn’t go to 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 and we still got a chance to go to the Super Bowl let’s go ! We beat the ravens and then the broncos than chargers than possibly the commanders! You know what’s funny ? We beat all them teams this year already. !!!!!
