I will say this about shimano. I used to live by the shimano warehouse and corporate offices in Lakef Forest ca. As a kid. Anytime I had an issue with a reel or rod I could go into the office and they replaced the reel or rod no questions. For that i will always be a shimano customer!

From my experience from owning the mid- teir to high end rods are technique specific in what you want it to do. These days a lot of low tier rod is just good as old high end rods. The action is just way too fast, you don't cast far and casts are not very precise when the action is this extreme. But the feel you get in the hand is just the best I ever felt, that handle is incredible. But then there's the rod cover, I don't get it, it's the most retarded rod cover I've ever seen. It's way too long for the rod and it has a goddamn zipper all along the side of it. No clue what that's about. All in all, I'm gonna keep it, I want to catch some fish with it then I'll consider if I'm going to keep it by the end of the next season.
