I AM A 7.3 HANDICAP AND I USE THE T-300 . T-300 ARE FOR ANY PLAYER SINGLE DIGIT HANDICAPPERS AS WELL. THESE IRONS AVERAGE 9-12 YARDS FARTHER ESPECIALLY WITH LOW HANDICAPPERS .

Nice. I'm getting fit for some irons this week. I'm going from straight blades to something more forgiving. The 200s and 300s will be on my list.

I was custom fit for 2019 T200’s this May. 1/2 inch short. Same graphite Red TENSEI shafts regular flex. Swing speed is 77-81 mph w 7 iron. 1 deg flat. Amazing forgiveness and feel on center hits. Off center and I get a clunky feeling but the distance drop off is marginal. Maybe 5 yards max.

Great review, thank you Sophie. Your results and judgment are particularly useful to a senior male golfer like me because your club speed is similar to mine. I just turned 80, have played golf for 59 years, am just under 6 feet tall and weigh 226 pounds. I have played forged Mizuno blades for decades, now play a blade similar to the MP-33 by Chicago Classics. My 7 iron has a 35.5 degree loft, so it is really weak. At a test with a Trackman in June a good hit with my 7i had club speed 74.8, ball speed 100.6, smash 1.34, launch 22.9, height 81, carry 137.3, total 146.4, spin 5370, landing angle 46.3. They were using Titleist ProV1 and Prov1x and Taylor Made TP5 and TP5x balls, so I am not sure which ball I hit that time. My handicap is not low because I can only afford to play once or twice a month, though I practice at the range three or four times a week. The master fitter said he would consider me to be in the top 10% of 80 year olds in terms of my swing and swing speed. He thought the previous model Titleist T200 would be a good fit for me. However, if I were to buy a set of the new Titleist irons (difficult on my limited budget) I would probably also opt for the T100S for many of the same reasons as Sophie. The T100S fits with decades of preference for the look and feel of a forged blade, but the 32 degree loft on the 7 iron would give me an extra 10 yards (my current 6 iron has a 32 degree loft), and as Sophie's data show, I would probably get the same height but with more spin to stop on greens. So thanks for a review that was really useful for this senior.

If you are a 12 handicap or better, I would: T100 (PW & 9) -> 46/42 (make the PW 47), then T100S (8,7,6) -> 36,32,28 (make 37,32,28) - combined this gives you (47,42,37,32,28). 47 to 28 covers you from traditional PW (47) to almost 5 iron at 28 (with modern tech, 28 is equal to 27-bladed traditional 5-iron). That leaves you the decision on 24-degrees (the '4' iron). A T200 or T300, bent to 24-degrees, is the last lofted iron any non-male-pro can hit at any reasonable peak height. This 6-club setup gives you a free club in the bag.

Really good review I was happy to see you dive into the head construction more so than other reviews. Many reviewers hit T100 and T100S side by side and never talked about the differences other than loft. It looked like you were using the Tensi graphite shafts I would have liked a bit more information about them.

Thanks for the review. I’m thinking a combo set as well t100s down to 6 iron 4&5 the T200 simply Bc you said offset is the same across all irons in those two series. Thanks for the info. Great video.

I've got my fitting done and now waiting for my set of T-100S irons to arrive. The feel of these irons is phenomenal. My previous set is the AP3's lots of distance but not a whole lot of feel but great irons also. With the T-100S and because the lofts are almost identical, I have the same distance as my AP3'S but with the feel and look of a tour iron. Can't beat it.

Nice review and I like your swing. I game the Callaway Mavrik which I bought a couple months ago, and have turned out to be the best clubs I have owned. They too have a lot of tungsten in the bottom, and I can feel that working to get the ball up, but with a powerful flight. Despite the strong lofts (7 iron is 27*) that tungsten gets the bell up, so I am getting best of both worlds - high ball flight plus a full club more length than my prior set. I am using the True Temper Elevate ETS 95.

Hi. I'm gaming old TM RAC OS irons that are not a thick sole design I find thick soled irons hard to play, so likely the T200 irons would suit my game. I am not good enough for the T100 series. The T300s, I'd be fearful of the turf interaction and thin shots. but they could also be the best choice for myself. I would like to try the T200 and T300 irons. They look great. I liked your video and explanation.

Would you say that the new T200's are more difficult to hit for high handicappers? It seems they have less offset and a shorter blade length than the previous model.
@sevesellors28313 жыл бұрын
Try the T400 very long and super forgiving also the. All away DCB forged apex irons as easy as BigBertha to hit.
@kooijbas3 жыл бұрын
@@sevesellors2831 Thanks, but I game the current T200's and came from a Callaway Rogue set. I hit the Titleists much better tham the Callaways. The SGI irons all seem very "top heavy" and I don't really do well with those. Which is why I liked the previous T200's so much. Thinner and more balanced, but still very forgiving.

So, im 20 handicap and I got fitted into the t100 as I hated the bigger chunkier clubs. these reviewers keep saying you need to be an elite ball striker etc but I find that I hit the ball more accurately and consistently with the t100 than I have any other club. What I'm trying to say is, don't shy away from these "tour players irons" without trying them for yourself.

After my comment last year after getting fitted for the T200s, I’m back looking for new irons…played the T200s for a few months but absolutely hated them…too clicky, too cheap feeling, and that plastic thing on the back is terrible…also, turf interaction wasn’t as good for me…didn’t try the T100S irons because they weren’t out yet at that time, but have since, and they are great…think I’ll be going with them…

Talking about the sole and not showing the sole or what they have done differently is like reading from the brochure. Anyone can do that. I want to know more in depth what Titleist have done with the sole and how that makes the turf interaction different.

I love your reviews. Really, they are the best on YT. I am playing the Ping S55. As I have gotten older, I don’t hit this style club as far and the TT S300 shafts are a lot of work. Moreover, I have slowed my tempo for better control. I am considering the T100S with graphite. I will definitely get fitted if I can find an outdoor fitter here in Orlando. Thanks for the great golf content. J

At the mid point of last season i compared my AP3 vs the T100 and saw zero measurable difference. Hit the balls the same yardage and hit just as many green in the two rounds i played. As a weekend 8 handicap who plays 50+ rounds annual i just can't see any reason to "upgrade" just get unless I am missing a hidden gem.

Hah! I watched this 3 weeks ago and said I can’t get jazzed up about any of these…WELL! Got fitted at Club Champion yesterday…I tried clubs in the order I thought I liked them after watching a million reviews (JPX 921, MB 20HMB, PXG 0311 (3rd and 4th gen), Taylormade 790, Callaway Apex…none worked for me…fitter pulled out the T200 and the Srixon ZX5…boom…loved both. After hitting both though, the T200 had a better feel to me (despite the higher pitch), gave me the elevation I needed (and landing angle), and the dispersion was better…so, now I guess I am jazzed up about them!!!!! Goes to show…you have to try before you buy!!! LOL
