I worked in the medical field for 28+ years as a CNA and a Telemetry tech. I hurt my back in 2009, back surgery 2010. I believe God took me out of the medical system to keep them from forcing me to Vax. He led me to the business I have had since 2012, preventative nail care for Seniors, disabled and diabetic in their homes. I am still caring for people at nearly 55 years old.. started at 16. God has been good to me. I've been through horrendous things including my son trying to take his own life but he lived and God gave him the calling to minister. I have been given the tools to barter and trade with folks. I learned massage. And I can grow food. I have strong people around me that practice staying close to god and deliverance. I left the med field during Covid. At the time we didnt have to have the vax. But by the end of the year they were coming up with appts for employees to get scheduled for the vax. I knew that those who left for not getting the vax would not be able to go back into a hospital setting. Unfortunately, it's going to happen again.

I got a clear message about 10 years ago to start prepping. I bought property that had its own water sources (a natural spring) and got other large properties. I now run a small village, that I've set up to help other people come in and prepare as Christians. We've got orchards, growing our own food, we have fish etc and everyone is offgrid, so we are completely energy independent. People have been able to sell up their homes, be completely debt free and have the ability to live without much cost etc. I really would recommend to people who are feeling overwhelmed, or that they can't do this - just know that God has prepared a way.

A harsh reality for preparedness is upon people who live in urban cities and can't grow their own food. Also, seniors are very vulnerable as they are unable to physically and financially do the many things for survival. Not everyone has a dwelling that can hold extra food and supplies. I pray for all of these precious lives.

I’m actually a landlord in an urban area. Even when I am showing people the smaller apartments I point out how above the cabinets will be easy to place baskets with canned goods for storage and such and even point out the wisdom of always having 3 months extra. We also plant things like ever blooming white and pink flower strawberry plants 🌸 and other beautiful flowering food options that most don’t realize are edible, such as, hostas. We don’t put weed killer on our lawns and if you know plants many weeds are safe to eat, but I don’t think things are gonna get THAT bad, but things like dandelion leaves and other edible greens grow naturally and preparing the mind with knowledge is one way to prepare. I give permission for my tenants to do above ground potted gardens. More realistically in urban areas is the need for little free food banks and physical Bibles and community Bible studies were you reach out to the neighbors and check on the neighbors or participate in community gardens or church visits on shut ins. I actually went around my neighborhood today and shared about different free resources at my church such as our car ministry, kids sports, and an Easter outreach.

God spoke to me in 2019 to just be prepared to have enough stuff for a family and a little extra to share. In 2020 our food banks limited hours, but little free food banks popped up on peoples yards and outside of Saint Vincent Depaul. We were prepared so we didn’t have to be running buying extra at the store instead we donated to the Little food banks and I actually believe that’s the reason why there wasn’t more turmoil. Obviously, God put it on many peoples hearts to be prepared and prepared to share. A physical ESV Bible and electrical emergency stuff was a huge prep need I got before lights started going out with recent ice storms and such.

I questioned the leading constantly because there never seemed a reason to be so prepared, and I just didn’t want to be considered an extremist. There are ways to grow food in a small area on shelf racks with grow lights....so an area as small as 4 sq ft on the floor with racks can grow a lot more than people think....a fair amount of food storage can be done in closets alone & just get rid of the accumulated junk that hasn't been used in months or years.

I listened this as I washed, candled and packaged chicken eggs from our backyard. Wholeheartedly agree! We've been doing hobby homesteading for about ten years. We have always said, "we are learning this while it is easy, so if someday when it's hard, we have the skills already." It has been a learning process, but a very fulfilling and rewarding one. We trust God! Yes! But He also gave humans the capacity and ownership to subdue the earth. It's like getting in a car and choosing to wear the seat belt and drive the speed limit.

I had a very similar word when my daughter was born! I kept worshipping and pressing in during labor and although it was tough it was not painful (not unless someone distracted me and I stopped worshipping) and when she was finally born I heard the Lord say so it will be (the word was specifically for South Africa where we live) that we will be squeezed harder and harder and that we will need to press in and press in with worship and intercession, that that's the only way to survive and get through the squeeze but in the end it will result in something wonderful to those who endure ❤

some prep tips - Blessings! "- Dried Beans in food safe container and or glass jars will last 5 plus years (if kept moisture free from mold etc). They will just go harder and take longer to soak. This includes chick peas and lentils too. Whole is better but split will work. - Sugar, salt, freeze dried coffee, vinegar/apple cider vinegar and raw good quality honey won't expire. - Buy unscented plain hospital grade bleach, 2 drops per litre (this can change depending on which bleach so best to research) to help purify water (boil water also depending where sourced). Bleach expires 20% per year after expiry date, so factor that in when adding drops. - Most pasta will last many years past best before in food safe containers. - Skim powdered milk will last 10 plus years after expiry date and full cream powdered milk should last many years after expiry. - Our bodies need iodine, so buy a couple bottles of salt with iodine each year, as iodine does expire. - Oats are fairly cheap, buy a years worth, rotate/feed to chooks/donate 6-12 months after best before. - Most canned foods will last years past best before, most for decades, some won't like pineapple (they can explode after so many years!), but most meats will last. Look, smell and then taste when opening. Any dented/rusted cans or any spoilage in the can throw it. - Seeds! - Wheat berries will last years - just need to make sure weevils won't get into the rest of your pantry from them - weevils can be killed from freezing the wheat but not always 100% full proof - only way to really stop weevils is to use oxygen absorbers in mylar bags to create an atmosphere of nitrogen which kills them, to do that you need to add 1/3rd extra oxygen absorbers than recommended. If you don't want to do mylar/oxygen absorbers just freeze then dry the wheat then jar in glass jars, they won't escape from there if any hatch, make sure seal is tight or in a bin with airtight lid. But these have every chance of infecting everything so either include and do it right or don't include in preps! Check on them often, every month with however you decide to store them. Weevils can also be in popcorn kernels and rice. - Don't forget matches, candles, batteries, solar lights, torches - Wool blankets. - In disaster times many people pass away from hygiene issues - so cleaning items, wipes, plastic bags, toothpaste, toilet paper and plenty of soap and shampoo. As well as disinfectants/band-aids... "

We've been preparing for a few years. Hubby and I are the "nutters" in our two families- not just because we're born again, but because we see whatvis happening. We eventually stopped talking about this to other family members because they just didn't want to hear it. I felt a prompting by the Lord the other day to take photos of the food I was busy canning that day and to make a FB post. I was a bit sceptical, but obeyed. The responses we got from those same family members were amazing. They're finally seeing it, and are now also starting to get the urgency feeling. I had been prepping to hunker down and shelter in place in Redding, but God just moved me to Fort Worth, and I still don't have my stuff from the movers yet. It's a THING. And like you, I still have more to do even when my stuff does arrive. I need a wise action plan, and I'm really fresh off the boat here, still just trying to learn what's in my neighborhood and what's nearby. So I need all the prayer and real-life connection and tactical support I can get right now.

Hi Shawn, your words have been so beneficial to us. I learned a lot about alternative medicine years back and built quite a bit of gear to help fellow believers with diseases using Colloidal silver, Beck zappers, ozone generators, Doug coils and Rife machines. I shut it all down a couple years back but now I have an itch to build low cost colloidal silver generators again. The big problem I had was finding distributors but I am believing that the Lord will do that for me if I build a new low cost version. It is great stuff to own when stuff hits the fan. I have had a strong urging from the Holy Spirit to pray for revival, and forgiveness so that God will heal our land, and as you said, build community. At times overwhelmed; husband does not yet see all these things. I’m doing it myself, well w/ God 😂. We live in San Francisco (not the Bay Area but in the city); so far I have things I can have on hand but do not have a garden or extra ongoing water supply. Yesterday God asked me to put some cash in hiding. So I’m going to trust Him not in what I think or in worry or fear, but just trust Him that He’s got us. @@kimholcomb8276 The best way is not to store it, bit to have a hand pump well. I live in a city and can't have a well because they require 300 ft setback from high pressure sewer lines. I use plastic jugs that are are for storage. I have 3 different types and add purogene to the water. I'm not sure what's best.

Don’t feel overwhelmed. Just have basic wisdom. Everyone should always be prepared for an emergency. Don’t be wasteful, just look a few more months ahead over what you normally do. If you know you always use one jar of spaghetti each month, but you wait until that month to buy the jar of spaghetti, simply by four jars of spaghetti next time you go shopping and four packages of noodles instead of one, but don’t be wasteful, make sure you use or donate what you buy, don’t buy things you would never eat buy things you normally eat or share a little early so you have it if you or your neighbor can’t get to the store. Ask the lord to guide you. Then when the emergency hits and everyone else starts running to the store, you stay home, God prepared you, your fine, you can even share what you have if others can’t get. 💕

My wife and I are of the same mind. Have been struggling with feeling overwhelmed, and have to keep reminding ourselves that we cannot do it all. We have to frequently recenter our thoughts on how God is leading us and keeping our eyes on Jesus. So don't propose it...just go do it. Each time I'm at the grocery store I just grab a few extra cans and then stick them in a cupboard in my garage which has become my pantry/prepper cupboard. It really adds up quickly. I'll buy a 4 liter of water now and then to. My husband wasn't really on board to start, but now he sees the wisdom in this. I try to work things into the budget in way that doesn't cost extra. Maybe your husband just wants you to be independent and make some decisions without consulting? My husband gets bugged if I get a lot of input from him. He likes me to just make decisions and not bug him much about it, lol. I guess every hubby is different though. Do your research, fit the items in the budget, and get it done 🙂
