Very cool trip! I did almost the exact same trip with my mom last summer. She wanted to visit the redwood forest while we were visiting her dad who lives in Walnut Creek. I told her, "You know. it's not exactly a quick hop over to the redwoods from where we are." But we did it anyways, and had a great time. I got to explore the Redwood Highway more in depth a few years ago, and I used your previous video series on the Redwood Highway as a guide. You helped me not to miss interesting points along the highway, and you were responsible for making my adventure a little more awesome. Thank you Justin!

So glad you went back through the redwood highway. I want to go up there every year but time and money are short so your videos on the subject help quell the longing.

Long live Confusion Hill ! Like you said, many of these old Mom and Pop tourists attractions are vanishing because folks are to busy to stop. Unfortunately Tony the Train engineer got replaced. The two new engineers they replaced him with have a very different style. 😢

The Gravity Shack at Confusion Hill definitely reminds me of the old Haunted Shack at Knott's Berry Farm. The main proprietors of the Haunted Shack was Slanted Sammy, & Shakey Sadie. Unfortunately Knott's removed the shack in 2000❕😥 MEMORIES❕ Hello from Phoenix Arizona❕🔥

I totally identify with your passion for roadside attractions, as I come from a generation where they were new n unusual n interesting n Mom n Dad took us to every single available roadside attractions on our vacations 3 times a year from 1965 to forever!!! Our family still gets together on vacation n we still visit every roadside attraction we can find it run up on, from Michigan all the way down to Florida n then over towards Arizona n New Mexico. That is why I love 💕 your videos, Justin, cuz you really appreciate the intrinsic value if our country's history n the purveyance of keeping our National Treasures for future generations!!! I love 💕 to accompany you on all your journeys, as your enthusiasm is extremely awesome n I get to see places I haven't been able to see in person!! Attaboy, Justin n Allie!!!

One of my favorite road trip memories was when I was in Australia, driving from Brisbane up to Fraser Island. We stopped for lunch at what turned out to be a ginger themed amusement park complete with a Small World-esque boat ride. I had no idea it existed. Found out via a sign on the road.

Justin we love your videos a lot, we actually have binging on you videos for awhile now, have laughed so hard, thanks I really needed that, just wanted to say bigfoot is real, when I lived in Cottonwood Ca. out on our property 30 years ago my son and his friend use to walk the rolling hill there, anyway the went to a pond to collect some fishing lures the had lost around the pond a there was a big foot there that chased them and they ran off and was able to get away from it, there is more to the story but that's a lot of texting, any way believe he is real, keep up the awesome videos, we love them, stay safe.

Before 1920 there was NO connected road system to get from SF bay to the Oregon border just several disjointed country roads serving the local counties. The north coast back in those days was supplied by ships sailing out of SF Bay. Lots of people had been up to the north state. Loggers & fishermen & ships crewmen and all had spread stories far and wide about the beauty and the great hunting & fishing to be had up there. BUT, finally, in 1920, the road from Eureka to Sausalito was completed. In 1920 soldiers back from WW1 had returned home and all got a nice thank you check from their Uncle Sam so a lot of those old soldiers headed up the new highway and setup roadside businesses to take advantage of the still fairly new automobile business driving north building gas stations, campgrounds, road side cafes & grocery stores and many added a roadside attraction such as the Chandler tree or a bear in a cage or whatnot. !

If I owned the shop on Confusion Hill I would never leave a stick of incense burning as was shown. I'd worry an adult wouldn't see it and burn their arm when passing by. Or worse, a child burn her face. Or even worse, a running child fly into it with his eye. Or another possibility, someone deliberately or accidentally knocking it to the floor and burning the place down.
