The affair partner has to want to be helped. When you continue to cheat and you know that it is extremely painful to the spouse, it shows a lack of character and selfishness. At that point divorce is inevitable.

The issue with the “why did you cheat” rabbit hole is that it’s often used as an excuse to justify the affair while also claiming the false narrative that if those things weren’t in place, the affair wouldn’t have happened. We know that even happy couples have affairs, and even in unhappy marriages, both partners are usually unhappy but usually, only one decides to cheat. This means the affair is based purely on choice, not dissatisfaction of marriage. This is also why it is crucial to seek therapy from a marriage counselor that specializes in infidelity, because the inflidelity has to be dealt with before the marriage does.

Sounds like my husband. It was basically open season on Anyone that he could get attention from, no matter what they looked like, how their personality was etc. it was always very trashy, easy and unattractive women that didn’t care about him being married. It had to do with his own brokenness which is still a hard pill to swallow for me since I tried so hard to be a good wife

Those chose that person because they made it easy for the cheater to cheat. That person enabled the cheating.

The primary affair partner my husband had was not his type at all personality wise or physically and wasn’t even the type of women as the other women he sought(yes he cheated with multiple women 🙄) she was easy, didn’t care that he was married and gave him attention. and it was always trashy and very unattractive women which his therapist says was a sign of intense self loathing on his part. Sometimes if they’re looking to cheat, it’s truly not about a type, it’s just about what’s available and willing. He swears it was always the situations he was attracted to and not most of the women. I guess that would be the development lag but still not quite…great video overall though.
