I think one of the few figures to nail the removable helmet look was TBOBF TVC Boba Fett.

I think vc 15 is my favorite clone trooper mold, they really should remaster it with tooling and detail but proportions all around are perfect

I hope Hasbro is aware everyone’s just down on the helmet. They have the visor down from the ARC helmets, it would be so simple a fix and avoid the consequences of getting this almost great sculpt several times a year for the next decade

Thanks for the comparison Victoria! I really do think they need to only use sculpted swappable heads moving forward. It leaves lees room for error and they are always properly sized. There’s been some real bucket heads lately with these plastic slip on helmets. I’m also curious why the clone releases have all had an off white look to them, obviously not ideal.

My favourite trooper mold is the antenna mold (2005). While the hip articulation is not as in depth as the other ones, I find it to be a well made sculpt and I prefer its proportions.

I would love to have been in the room at Hasbro when they first revealed the new clone figure and see if anyone raised an issue with the squinty eye visor on the helmet.

Nice, in-depth comparison. I agree with the points you made. The figure does look great with the helmet off, despite the chunky wrists. As great as the figures have been lately, it's a shame this one falls a bit short. And I agree with you 100%, I would much rather have swappable heads and helmets. The fact that a figure has a removable helmet is kinda cool, but not worth it at the cost of aesthetics. TVC Axe Woves is another recent example of bucket head syndrome.

It took Hasbro years to nail the OT Stormtrooper helmet in both Black Series and Vintage Collection sizes. I think it's past time they did the same for the clone troopers. Base a figure around the CGI models from Episodes II and III and be done with it.

Thank you for the in-depth comparison Victoria. Crikey .... we are continually frustrated that Hasbro keep failing after having redesigned this Clone SO MANY TIMES ! How hard is the prototype process such that they miss obvious errors. This new TVC version has a great body but the helmet looks deformed / flattened and is STILL a bucket ! AGAIN, we have to resort to "cobbling" together parts ourselves to get the BEST Clone Phase II >>> this should NOT happen. Hasbro finally got the new Stormtrooper correct (afters YEARS) ... but this Clone Helmet, Hasbro ... ball dropped AGAIN ! This stops me buying multiples as I will wait until they FIX the helmet ... grrrrrr [insert adult-tantrum here].

😯 A Victoria's Cantina video appeared! This is something I have specifically been waiting for, and Im glad you are doing it because I know its going to be a thorough comp. I never knew that about the phase 2 trooper with the barc speeder. I was really excited when it was announced, but as I saw pictures of it in hand, I kind of left me wanting (especially the off white). I went in on the previous TVC release of the Phase 1 and I really dont mind that mold and the helmet looks great. I might get one or two of the new one. It does look a bit stocky, but I think the modern articulation will make for some great poses. I really hope your idea for the multipack gets to hasbro, but looks like they are already on track to just do straight reissues with different paint schemes and no new parts.

Great video! Is maybe petitioning for a redo on the visor something you community channels are thinking of similar to the response to the 212th army builder? They have it down with the ARC visor, how did this happen😂. We are going to get countless releases of this clone for a decade, I think we’d really regret not dealing with this issue looking back. Would sell so much better too!

Great review, thank you for the in depth comparison. Side note, something is going on with the wrist/forearms lately in TVC Cal Kestis has the same strange “thick wrist” problem going on. Its on this new clone trooper, Im not sure whats going on there. There are several male figures, with much thinner more anatomically correct wrists, for some reason Hasbro seems to be over doing it on the wrists very recently. I *believe* the slightly off white is more accurate, as crazy as that sounds. If you look at Hot Toys clone troopers you’ll see what I mean. The stormtroopers do appear to be crisp white, but I believe clones are just off white. I think they look strange being off white because theres no additional weathering, like Hot Toys does.

The off-white may indeed be accurate… that’s a good point. I do have some Hot Toys clones and Stormtroopers and the clones are definitely a little more dull.

So many years and Hasbro just can’t get it right, but we are getting closer and closer! I’m curious if the newer one can actually ride any vehicle with those big feet Antenna mold looks like a broad muscular guy but has a skinny torso, VC41 is a trooper that was left to starve although the shape of the torso is a greater improvement and the Andor version looks like an actual human but it was given a horrible helmet and hands :(

Thank you for the comparison. For me the new hip articulation puts the 2023 version as the best of what we have so far. The off white color could be a because of a new plastic mix that reduces discoloration over time, or for an in story reason, new Clone Troopers were called Shinies more that a few times in the Clone Wars series and this new figure is meant to represent a more experienced Trooper. Hopefully these will show up soon besides in cases. I would like to get a few to see if I can swap some parts around and update the hip articulation on some of the ARC Troopers Hasbro has been releasing lately.

The second version was nice but still felt a bit too “flat” from the other Clones. They felt more realistic and as much as I love the prequels, the Clones do a bit too skinny on their lower legs and armour. As if they designed it without a person that could fit into it. The T visor is something they just can’t get right in phase 2 now for some reason.

my favorite is VC45 figure. I hope vc45 can continue maybe make 3 pack of trooper we don't have yet all you need is clone repaints. and the clone trooper barc speeder. need it Reissue. and clone shock troopre need it. me not care about proportionate. it is good figures. and it is action figure.

I've been struggling with all of the most recent TVC phase two clones and commanders because their helmets all look way too big in my opinion. I think the new bodies are fantastic they continue to improve, but those helmets continue to be a let down when they're phase 2 style. Hopefully it's something Hasbro will eventually fix, but worse case I'll just display them all helmetless if it can be done.

Just wanted to come back around and say you're 100% right that going forward they should do what they did with Bo Katan with all clones (honestly, helmeted characters in general with unmasked ability) soft plastic helmets just don't work or give justice because they turn out either too big to account the head or squished and bent weird when put on the head.

I dont like removable helmets in this scale. Especially with the materials hasbro uses. It doesnt produce desired results for something that is more than a toy. I wish they just made swappable heads.
