Did you say "internal hub" about that third trike? Nuvinci? The planetary hub? Worry-free shifting! I think you should emphasize that because shifting deters many from taking up a trike. Some never learned to shift, because we grew up with single speeds, but all the good trikes have multiple speeds and seem intimidating.

The internal hub is a Shimano Alfine 8 speed hub. It is operated with an 8 speed Shimano twist shifter, so you still have to shift. When shifting an internal hub like the Alfine, you should coast when shifting, for an easy transition from gear to gear. With a derailleur system, you need to pedal lightly when shifting from gear to gear. The electric assist versions can be purchased with Automatic or Manual shifting.

Excellent point. Seniors get overwhelmed easily so a succession of hands on test rides and demonstrations is important.
