This was a quick build where I built and painted it in a weekend then added the decals and weathering in the following weekend, a slightly mysterious scheme as I'm yet to find any images of the actual aircraft, reportedly being used in October 1940 from Northern France as a fighter bomber over the south of England. These aircraft generally caused alarm in sporadic single bombing raids (using a single SC 250kg bomb centrally under the fuselage) towards the end of the Battle of Britain. 'Achtung Anfanger' roughly translates as attention beginners, make of that what you will, these decals came from the Kagero book on the BoB Volume 3 Topcolours series. The replaced gun cover in front of the windscreen adds interest and has been depicted in RLM 65 as well as bare metal, I chose bare metal but knowing the Germans it probably was painted and protected. The aircraft served as Black 6, 5/JG51, Mardyck Autumn 1940.
