I like the choice of combining different shades of green for this quilt. One strip set has fabrics mostly in the yellow-green family. The other strip set has mostly blue-green fabrics. The contrast is nice.

Your idea to use a weight on the end of the ruler is brilliant! This has changed everything re cutting for me. I have two old cast iron irons that I just had sitting on a bookshelf. It makes all the difference in cutting the fabric accurately. You guys are amazing. Amazing cutters, piecers, quilters, colorists......you two have got it all! You’re the bees knees. So glad I found you.

Theyre a joy to watch you describe thecquilt, puck out fabrics and cut, sew and assemble the quilt. Its really tough these days with all the politics and fear and bring shut in for rhe most part. You are such a delightful host and the videos are wonderful entertaining and well done. They are uplifting and peaceful. Thank you to you and your husband for producing them. Keep them coming please.

Love your tutorials and there were so many good tips here for successful cutting and assembly from both you and Matt. Thought I'd also mention that I like how the background music seems to be at just the right volume and a pleasant, upbeat tune without distracting from your instructions. And wrapping up the video with that music added to the "whistle while you work" mood :-) Yes, those fabric selections turned out to be beautiful. Thanks for putting out tutorials of such quality production. You all are appreciated!

Pamela I've had 4 surgeries to have tumors removed from my left lung and every surgery they went in the same incision and made it bigger every time. Bc of that I have really bad nerve damage and anything I do using my arms/muscles in my shoulders and back really really hurt. I saw her use the weight on a video a couple years ago and holy cow what a difference it's made!! Love learning new things that make quilting easier!!!

I agree that the browns on the quilt pattern cover just wasn't very appealing. The blues and greens that Donna chose were much nicer and made the pattern more desirable. Until I watched this video, I never wanted to try the Hash Browns pattern. However, seeing a quilt made in the pretty blues and greens has now made me want to give the pattern a go! Thanks so much Donna for your fantastic tutorials!!! And thanks to Matt for his fabric cutting expertise!

Another tip from y'all that really works. Now, when I cut, I say to myself, "Push to the floor, push to the floor" and it really works. Don't know the science but it works. You folks are my quilt hero's. And the finger pressing has made such a difference. No more ditchey seams. Plus, my hubby went on the ironing board adventure with Matt and made me a pressing station (with straight lines) that has made such a difference I am still amazed. So nice to measure against straight lines instead of just hoping it's straight. I've made 2 sets of placemats and they are as close to perfect as I could ever hope for. Considering this quilt but wish Cozy Quilts would send patterns digitally. Keep em coming Donna and Matt. You have a fan for life from me.

Ok... I have hesitated to post this but I am just going to bite the bullet and ask. 😬 I love your tutorials more than I can say but I do have one wish… Since most of us are not fortunate enough to own a fabric store, can you do a budget friendly tutorial? You do a lot with beautiful batiks, but I personally can’t afford to buy large quantities of batik fabrics. I am thinking you could maybe take a quilt you have made in the past and start with how to choose quality lower priced fabrics.. I have a very low budget for my sewing, but I know that there are plenty of lower price but good quality choices available. I just don’t know how to determine quality other tthan by price.Thank you so much for your outstanding tutorials! Happy quilting.

You can suggest gift cards to JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby for Christmas and/or birthdays. I do understand this as I have the same problem; I cannot afford the fabrics used in the tutorials. However, I use the coupons from the above mentioned stores and watch for sales. Unfortunately, getting started with the equipment you may need, is not a cheap hobby. Charm quilts are very nice, which you can make from inexpensive fat quarters that you can pick up for about a dollar or a 1.50. I make baby quilts and use the cheapest children designed fabric that is 100% cotton. I would pre-wash the cheaper materials first and iron them; that's what I do. Hope this helps and hope that you can continue to enjoy quilting.

It was so awesome seeing all the bolts of fabric and the fabric that Matt has already cut and packaged in this video. This is how I wish we were able to shop..By virtually being in the shop and being able to pick out what we want to purchase. Maybe not in my time, but one day it will happen. It's just frustrating because Some of us will never be able to get to Oregon to come shopping. The quilt was very pretty that you made in this video. You mentioned water and those were my thoughts as well on the quilt. I Find it amazing how quickly you can put a quilt together. Thanks to you and Matt and your crew for all you do.
