Allright, first things first, i am VERY HAPPY to see the sub-captancy on Ryan Adams. He just seems to me like a good fit for the role. Both our captains seem the right men for the jobs interchangeably in my opinion. Now to the match, i have some notes: I'll start with the not so good: - We seem very disorganized in the back still. I am not talking about the the defense, per say, but the whole team as a unit does not seem as compact (like Devs pointed out at half-time) as it needs to be at this level. Now, there are a LOT of reasons why that may be, so i'll share some i noticed: * Obviously, there were a lot of changes in the first eleven, which by itself causes some a different approach to the match. * Now i'd like to start by saying this is not at all due to Jacko. He had a phenomenal match and is, alongside Stamp, most of the reason the team got away with a point in this match. Jacko shines where ACW is good and vice-versa. Jacko is absolutely stunning in 1-on-1's. He saved the team AT LEAST twice tonight with some very clutch saves. I think ACW is a tiny bit better in between the sticks, but they both are VERY GOOD GKs. The team is really strong in this position overall. * I like Evans as a left back, he has a very high work-rate and seems to have a default defensive stance approach to the game, which helps to balance the team's overall's tendency to act otherwise. * Case in point, our boy Jemel: he works just as hard, but he takes every possible chance to go forward, which is awesome and can be very important to create numbers advantage going forward, but at the same time, really seems to take a LOT out of him to defend with high pressure and attack just as so. He MAY get to that fitness level, but at this stage, with how hard he works both attacking and defending, he seems to run out of gas mid-way through second half. Also, some of the movements going forward can backfire if the team does not compensate enough (see how suffered the equalizing goal). So he either needs to restrain from going forward (not ideal, as he is very effective at it), the team needs to compensate better (play Stamp as a RCB since he can compensate easily on that side as it seems to be his natural role, also having Evans join as CB with Adams to balance the defense when Jemel goes forward), or Jemel needs to improve even more his fitness level to sustain a full match doing both offensive and defensive jobs. * As for Sam Adams, altough he is faster and with a better reaction time than Beck, i think he is not as good as him at marking, and seems to still give a lot of space to the opposing forwards (which makes him have to work twice as hard when they make a move). But working a little on positioning and marking he can be the most complete CB on the team. * Now, for as much as i love the Tekkers/Carter connection, i think it felt a little diverged today...There were still some good 1-2s and ball switching, but they suffer from not getting as much of the ball because none of them have very high defensive work-rates. They could really use their CDM from previous games, but i think it's still benefitial overall to sacrifice this for the extra man up-front. * Speaking strictly in defensive terms, from the last 4 men (Brown, Honest, Richmond and R.Adams) , i'd say only R. Adams does enough in terms of high pressuring the opponents defensive and forcing defensive mistakes and bad passing. I'm not asking the front men to dive deep in our defense to help of course, but they need to force more mistakes from the opposing defense. The first line of defense are the forwards, and not having R.Adams up there really takes a lot away from this point. Now to the good stuff: - Stamp is just in phenomenal form. Worked hard the whole 90m and had some really KEY interventions throughout the match....Check the ball he cuts in the delayed advantage foul the referee awarded Hackney Wick. The way he sprinted and slide tackled their opponent is world class stuff. - Jacko really made a claim for the GK this match. I mentioned above what i think both GKs strenghts are, and it's up to Devs to really mix and match what is more important for each kind of opponent, but in terms of game direct impact, this was an extremely good showing tonight. Great stuff really! - The overall defensive line, despite all the problems mentioned above, still gets my thumbs up in terms of commitment and making up for their mistakes with a high level of sacrifice and work-rate. One way or another, they all worked to keep the score tied and the unity amongst them is deserving of note. - I appreciated Hursit's impact to the game. In a 2-manned center of the pitch approach, he brings some very needed defensive balance tot he equation. I like how Carter and Tekkers seem to inately work together passing-wise, but sadly they seem to be too similar to work as a single unit with no 3rd party helping them defend in this tactical formation, so i'd say they should be competing for the attacking role in the midfield. Hursit, which is in my opinion our most complete #8 kind of role, or our captain, Jack, should ocupy the defensive role in the midfield IMO, if we are going to stick with a 4-4-2 kind of formation. - HHH is really REALLY good with his left foot (although being right-footed from what i understood). He is EASILY the best weak foot on the squad. He looked lively the whole match and was our most creative attacking force this match. Add a little bit more defensive spark and he will be a very complete LM. Right now, i'd say he is working more as a LW, which does not serve our tactic just as well. - Now i'll talk about both R. Adams and Richmond as a single point, because i think they both had pretty solid showings tonight, but BOTH could benefit from swapping their roles in the pitch. I love how R. Adams pressures high and really forces the opponent's defense to make tough choices, and like i said above, he is usually our first line of defense, from an up-front position. Plus, the way him and Brown can almost work together blindfolded, cannot be crafted into existance, it just takes a lot of time, and they are already "there". Richmond on the other hand, seems like a really lively player, constantly making runs and creating pockets of space and lines of pass for the team. Despite not fearing to take a chance himself, the goal he created for HHH proves his unselfish nature and how well he can create from the right wing. Devs is the coach and he surely has way more to work with than i do from the training sessions, but i think this one really is something he should try at least in practice. - As for our boy Dan Brown, i think the man suffered from not having his partner in crime with him up-front, but the few chances he got, he was super dangerous (see the chance Richmond sadly wasn't able to convert. his move inside the small box was deadly). Very underrated how much he ran to create pockets of space for his teammates in the attack. Just because he had less of the ball in this game really does not mean he had a bad match. On the contrary, keep an eye on him through the match and you'll see how much space he created mainly for HHH and Richmond, but for the team overall. Keep it up mate, the chances will come, and you will no doubt pounce on them. In a bigger picture, i think this tactical approach is the correct path for the team. Sure, we suffered in the middle of the pitch from the lack of the extra tampon in front of the defenders, but that's something we'll have to learn to work around, because the benefits of having an extra man up-front LARGELY outweight that. The way we forced Hackney Wick to their box for most of the first 25m prove just that. The only problem now is KEEPING that kind of high pressure for longer. If we manage to get 2 or 3 goals in the opening of a game, we can then maybe retract to our 4-2-3-1 and counter-attack from there. But i think we REALLY should keep starting the game with 4-4-2. It really helps us to come strongly to the match early. In terms of result, we'd all love to have gotten our first victory, but it wasn't to be. We could had scored more goals early, they could had scored more goals later in the game. Overall it was a fair result in the end. But even though we have a lot to work around, i have to call this game an improvement from the Saturday one. We are getting there boys!!! You all seem keen on defending our new kits and i am sure we will honour it with many many victories in the future! Work hard, be professional, do your best EVERY TIME, every training, every ball dispute! Just know that, as a fan, i am very proud of all of you. All i ask as a fan is to see a better team with each fixture, and so far you are delivering. So thank you! :) DO NOT EVER FORGET TO # IT!

Defence is really really shaky, defenders being pulled out of position way to easily and. E midfield is not offering enough protection. I feel like midfield fitness isn’t good enough, towards the end of the game the midfield completely disintegrated. As much as people will bash in the defence I think the midfield really aren’t giving them any support. I’ve been calling for Sam Adams to start over rich beck and even though I think he is a better player than rich it was evident from today that he isn’t up to scratch either. Jamel, though easily pulled out of position, was more comfortable on the ball as well as being stronger and faster. Whilst Jack Harrison is out they should play Jamel at CB with stamp. Very please Stamp is getting played at CB consistently, was excellent today and without him # would have definitely lost the game. Jacko was actually not great (he did make an amazing save though) think AJW should be starting most games

Kaspar Strugar yesss, i think the midfield is too weak and attacking-minded with Tekkers and Carter in the middle. They are good but there should be a more physical player in the middle to bolster the defence. Carter is good at short-passing and starting up plays and Tekkers is good at set-pieces, but they are just too weak to cover the defence.

Well battled lads...games like these are vital towards the end of the season....we go again at the weekend....I've just started watching lower non-league football aswell with my local team (Wythenshawe Town) who also made the transition to semi pro this season and are in the North west counties league......it's really fun and I'd reccomend it to anyone over top flight football anyday!!
