I know nothing about Indian classical dance.. but one day I wanted to introduce my 2 yr old daughter to Indian culture and thought the best way to do is through MUSIC & DANCE.. I went to KZbin & the first one I could find is “Muddugare Yashoda” by Harini from Sridevi Nrithyalaya.. I am so happy that I am able to introduce my daughter to such an awesome performance.. I am very thankful to everyone involved in making these videos.

@@Jo2023 Such kind and encouraging words. Thank you! Actually, I started taking online classes with an amazing young dancer and teacher from Kolkata (Supratim Talukder). It's been about 7 months now. Bharatanatyam is such an intricate, beautiful, challenging dance form! I just love it. It challenges me on all levels. It has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. (BTW I'm 62 now!)

The grandeur, sheer joy and abandon of Bharatanatyam obviate the need for elaborate costumes (although I love the costume). This is lovely. I learned the Mishram Alarippu from the immortal B Ram Gopal, my Guru's Guru. He learned it from his Guru, Thatha, Meenakshi Sundaram Pillai.
