Dark Lovecraft Music from the ambient album Hastur
👉Bandcamp: cryochamber.bandcamp.com/albu...
👉Spotify: open.spotify.com/album/0XbjBO...
👉Album Playlist: • Hastur
A 2 hour dark soundscape album recorded by over 20 ambient artists to pay tribute to H.P. Lovecraft.
Dark sounds from hidden courts, ancient temples and dilapidated and forgotten civilizations.
Part 1: • Hastur 1 / 2
Part 2: • Hastur 2 / 2
"Some name him Hastur - others Assatur, Hali or Kaiwan. The last can, to the erudite mind, whisper something of where the supernal alliances may lie. The men of Leng are purported to know more, but that is no place for wholesome minds. Better then to seek out a Shantak. It will doubtless whisper of onyx and a frigid wind, urging you ever northward and upward. Were ye to follow, ye may glean the answers ye seek. But they would do you little good, once the unrelenting drums have hold on thee. It is better, sometimes, not to know whom ye serve." - Excerpt from Digibook
So is this a compilation?
No, this is a collaboration and huge undertaking. Over 20 artists linked studios and sound for over a year so that they could work with each other. This led to a deep collaborative exploration of the Mythos and Hastur
2 CD album comes in a Deluxe 20 page Hard cover DigiBook. Artwork is served on Matte Laminated pages that makes the colors deep and preserved. Journal written by Donald Persson ( Codex, Shub-Niggurath ).

Most disturbing is from Atrium Carceri the album Seishin Byouin. I have been listen' him since 2k8 and the path starti at album Cellblock going through seishin pharentis and void.....is a mental trip that is far higher then most of the dark ambient i had been listening since then.... yet the cryo colab are speechless. i am awating to get a new PA and turntables so i get those album in vinyl

I’m beyond excited to listen to this. Part one was genius, and this one promises to be a masterpiece as well. These Lovecraft collaborations are so incredibly good. If pressed, I’d say that these are my favorite albums each year- they’re consistently awesome, yet somehow each one outdoes the last. They’re so evocative of their subjects, and have such a timeless quality. These are still going to be amazing in forty years- I won’t be here, but these will. When I lived in Providence in the mid- to late-‘90s, I frequently spent time at Lovecraft’s grave, and the rest of that beautiful old cemetery. I would love to sit there and listen to all of these albums, and read a few of his stories while there. In fact, I think that this coming Fall, that’s exactly what I’m going to do. Thanks for all of these amazing albums-

@@jockejocke1 I actually did not, unfortunately. The border between Connecticut was closed on again/ off again with Rhode Island due to the pandemic, and I also just didn’t have enough time, anyway. I was one of my Dad’s main caregivers, as he had idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and he required more and more care, which didn’t leave me with much in the way of free time. He passed away two days after Christmas, so I’m glad that I spent more time with him that I would have otherwise missed, had I taken any day trips. So hopefully, I can go this fall. Thanks for asking, though!

This has to be the most peaceful track out of all of them. I mean Yog-Sothoth part 1 and 2 and Azathoth part 1 had very peaceful moments. But this one was Amazingly peaceful at times. Because it has that since of mystery and a little bit of creepiness to it. Awesome job Cryo Chamber. All of the artist that work on everything you put out are super talented people. And you guys have even inspired me and motivated me to continue working on my Personal Project. Thank you guys so much for this channel. God bless you all.

Very Doomesque (PS1 Version) It's fantastic. Cryo Chamber you should get all the contributors together for a video explaining their inspirations and emotions regarding the production of these awesome tracks. I listened to Aubrey Hodges (The fella who made Doom PSX soundtrack) explain that he had to put himself in a dark mental state in order to produce his tracks. Like myself, I'm sure the fans are keen to hear from your Consortium. Thanks

baphomick Good choice! I haven’t read that in years, but always loved Pie and Gentle’s oddly reassuring relationship. I used to read the first few chapters every Xmastime when I was younger- the Xmas party combined with the sadness of Taylor’s decline always put the season into a different perspective. Anyway- great music, great book- have a great new year.

For many, many years I would celebrate Halloween from October 1st to December 30th with a daily mix of scary movies and creepy audio dramas. After discovering this damn label my traditions have been completely messed up. I listen to Cryo Chamber every day and usually don't find the time to watch a spooky film or listen to a Lovecraftian story anymore. My favourite source of darkness is Cryo Chamber. Yog Sothoth!

No, this entire 2 hour album is a collaborative work between 20 artists, it's not made up of artists solo tracks but uses a lego-esque approach where each artists sound is merged and reworked by other artists until it is finalized.
