Hasty Bake 250 Pro Firebox Door Modification

I absolutely love my new HB 250 Pro but one problem that I've had right out of the box is the latch on the firebox door does not work consistently. My fix was to eliminate the catch that's welded on the back side of the door and install a small toggle clamp. This should work much better and provide some additional benefits that we'll go over in the video. #abomadventures #hastybake #grill

@abom79 the clamp you installed appears to be zinc plated (visually against the 316). Peeking @ McMaster-Carr... 1) You didn't like the 18-8 options? 2) Interesting the low profile clamps didn't have the square pad option like the other style clamps.

I would’ve put it clear on the far right hand side, so the heat does not affect the clamp and I would still do everything that you said, and it would be away from the heat

I'm sure the DE-STA-CO people will be happy to see an other application of one of their clamps. Yes, the rubber bumper may be a problem. Maybe you could replace it with one made of silicon rubber.

i would copy the measurements into the cad system. then you could easily make parts and a whole new grill if you need too.

Should have used your Sky Hook in reverse to center punch with your spring loaded punch. I'm a little 200lb gorilla and you looked like you were struggling. Moral of the story: You're a big boy now, pick up the Kurt vise with you hands. Muscle, use it or lose it!
