Juliet had taken a drug to make her sleep so that people would think she was dead and she could be smuggled out of the city where she would go to meet Romeo (who had been banished). Romeo was told by one of his [oblivious] friends that Juliet had died, so he came back to the city to see her body one last time. He comes to a the chapel where he sees her asleep on an alter or something and so he takes a poison which he had been planning to take to be with her in the 'afterlife', and he dies. When she wakes up to see him dead she tries to take the poison too, but theres none left so she stabs herself and also dies. Hmmm.... My year 8 english lessons actually came in handy...
