Hatchet Ambusher - Better than Dagger? Most underrated Class + Weapon Combination - Chivalry 2

The Hatchet Ambusher is one of my favorite class/weapon combinations but it is extremely underrated/overlooked and I rarely see ambushers use the hatchet.
I hope this video will get some of you to give the hatchet another chance since it's a lot of fun and can be a better choice than the dagger depending on your playstyle.

Went 58-2 my last hatchet ambusher game. More serious ambusher players and dagger fans I know love the hatchet too. I agree with everything you said, the hatchet really evens the playing field when you're caught in a 1vx or a tough 1v1 and need the extra damage. Heavy overhead is so good.

Ambusher with katars and short sword is very fun to play, katars in 3rd person hit where you head is, not where the crosshair is located, also the only draggable attacks are overhead and leaping strike, and alt attacks hit like a 10% lower that regular attacks, so a lot of players miss a lot with it, but when you actually know where to aim, is really good to ambush with it. Ive gotten +30 kills plays with it, of course the dagger and hatchet are more versatile.

The short sword is nice in the right hands. Short sword for primary and hatchet for secondary. Super fun combo. Switch depending on the class ur fighting.

Tried dagger several times and can't really enjoy this weapon for some reason :( Hitting backstabs with it is very fun ofc, but when I get spotted it is almost impossible to do anything in 1vX situation. So yeah, hatchets (and shortswords probably) to go! Also, would like to see the dagger on some other classes as a secondary weapon - it has a lot of skins, but nobody plays the ambusher, so I don't think that I have seen any of those dagger skins in action, lol.

You are right, the range is a big disadvantage of the hatchet 😁 But if it would be a little bit longer it could be too strong already imo

I really like the cavalry sword! It's definitely one of the better one handed weapons and it is a good choice for TO and for duels imo! I might make a video about the cav sword soon :)

Not in my experience. You're better off with Dagger for the special and 70 heavy stabs. The hatchet is also great if you don't mind the bad range, it's very dmg compact for such a small weapon.

The shortsword is definitely a good choice! But i personally prefer the higher damage output of the hatchet 👍
