The disconnection VICE has with the original fanbase is sadly a reality. Who are they making content for now?
@Halokon5 жыл бұрын
Younger people. Like they always have. You got old, we all did, but some of us have the good grace not to throw a temper tantrum and let the kids have their version of the thing we liked.
@antediluvianclockwork97695 жыл бұрын
@@Halokon They were making content for themselves when we liked it. They didn't have a specific target audience at that time. Now they have some warped view of who they should "target", which ends up bringing up crap like this. If you consider my comment as a temper tantrum, I'd hate to see the emotional rollercoaster of your everyday life.

To those commenting their annoyance at vice: Move on if it doesn’t suit, don’t be the type of person who demands to always be the target audience. You probably had vice from your late teens onwards, and are nearing or past 30, which is fine, but it’s also a given that you’ll age out eventually, you’re not the young hip crowd anymore. Although it has to be stressed, Vice can do more than one thing at a time, and has multiple channels. It’s always been a ‘culture’ network, and culture changes, sometimes in ways you don’t like. Also vice news is a thing. If you don’t like it, stop watching, it’s a more effective message than being bratty. I’m assuming you’re not a boomer, but it’s some seriously boomer behaviour to demand change never occurs, and that if it isn’t your cup of tea, instead of moving on, or thinking “maybe I’m not the target demographic anymore”, and finding something that suits you, you demand “MTV BRING BACK MUSIC”. So many shitty messages that miss the mark entirely. I’m hoping you’re not all just a misinformation campaign, but instead a bunch of people experiencing media landscape shifts for the first time, consciously. I take it you don’t watch Cartoon Network or a ‘classic movie and tv’ network either, but you’re not bitching about that, instead you’re wondering why a network that has always aimed (and missed sometimes) to push the buttons of the young adult demo has decided to “start” catering to someone not you (and haven’t arrived at the obvious answer yet), or that it’s lurched to the left, when really you’ve only recently solidified around a political identity yourself, and are now conscious that it puts you at odds with left-leaning media. Either way, you can voice your distaste by not engaging, instead of ranting like a child, and every catty comment is more reason for vice to keep at it. Videos with strong engagement get more money, it doesn’t matter if it’s positive or negative. You guys are entirely fucked when you hit your 50s and 60s; you’re going to be lost in a sea of confusion as to why everything “has gotten worse” when really you’re just not the demo anymore. At least try to not knee-jerk your way back to an imagined golden age and hurt a bunch of people in the fruitless process, and instead just open the archives and look at what you want or buy a car or find an outlet that does provide for you, you massive children.
