I've got my eggs yesterday and I've put them into my incubator I was wondering when I should check on the eggs so I know that they are fertilized or not because I brought the eggs from ebay and I'm considering they might be infertile
@ourvisionfarm28932 жыл бұрын
You can check in a couple of days. I'd say like day 4 or 5. There should be something growing for sure by that time. And then remove any that show no sign of anything

Is it ok to set incubator to 38° ??
@AthosRespecter3 жыл бұрын
Yes

@@AthosRespecter i don't know why but there was no sign of life in my quail eggs even after the 15th day of incubation.. they were fertilized eggs.. but one thing i did wrong though... that i kept the eggs without incubating for several days because of busy shedule.. now its all over... :(

is it ok to put 100watts
@ourvisionfarm28932 жыл бұрын
The lightbulb watts will depend on the size of your incubator. You'll have to test it out without eggs first. When you put a new bulb,close the incubator,leave it on for a couple hours to see how hot it gets.if it gets too hot then you'll have to go down to a less strong bulb.

I'm allowing my bantam coaching chicken to hatch quail eggs but I have a legit question, should I let her raise the quill chicks or will they run off?
@ourvisionfarm28932 жыл бұрын
Are they in an enclosed coop? Quails can fly really good,like a regular bird. So that might happen once they figure out they can fly😊 otherwise yes I'd let the chicken raise them! We had a couple quails escape their coop once and they flew far far away into the woods,never saw them again💔

@@ourvisionfarm2893 her nest is in our current coup which is open all day so they can free range, I'll start working on building a quail cage for them and the mother when they hatch, I'll allow her to raise them and after she's done her job I'll put her back with the flock of course, thank you so much for the suggestion!

I don’t see any veins am on day 7. Shall I just wait till see if I get anything
@ourvisionfarm28933 жыл бұрын
I feel like you should be able to see something by day 7 for quail eggs. Sometimes it's hard to tell though because of all the spots and patterns on the eggs. Make sure you don't smell any rotten eggs and wait a couple more days? It may be that the eggs aren't fertile from the start.

I see movement in the egg day 7 it’s like bobbing up and down. ?

@@ourvisionfarm2893 On my other eggs, I see slight red and I believe it is an air sac but can't see any movement. ?? Why is that?
@ourvisionfarm28933 жыл бұрын
@@interests1094 if there's for sure no movement or if you wiggle the egg a little and something seems "loose" in there that means whatever was growing died. Sometimes you can also see like a red line or ring that also means it didn't make it. But make sure you don't see any movement at all before throwing them out. if the egg is a little behind in development sometimes you can see a tiny little heartbeat.

@Our vision farm I just started and I can smell that its rotten but it has vains
@ourvisionfarm28932 жыл бұрын
Do you have multiple eggs? I'd pick each one up individually and smell them,you can usually find the exact one that is rotten. They can die at any point aswell so even if there's veins it may have died and you'll see there's no continued growth after a couple days. But don't throw anything out unless for sure it smells rotten.

Is rust harmful to the eggs
@ourvisionfarm28934 жыл бұрын
I don't think so, The eggs are protected by their shell. What do you mean by rust? Like if your incubator has rust on it ?
@aldrineuri1223 жыл бұрын
@@ourvisionfarm2893 he means it's just, he's right tho don't touch them or take them out of the incubator if the room is cold and there might be bacteria on your hand and affect the egg, and eggs have little pores they're not air tight.
