They also didn’t copy paste. The hatred comes from their success and creativity. They didn’t “sell out” they just made music that wasn’t the avg hardcore band and outsiders recognized it even if they don’t normally dabble in the genre. Not only is seeing ourselves hard to do, but allowing ourselves to see others without judgement or projection, is equally challenging. Holy shit I'm 64, first generation punk and have been waiting for a band to resurrect the awful music scene. This shit is dope as fuck. How did I miss them, since 2013? It's like early 311 meets RATM meets Porno for Pyros meets Killing Joke meets Fugazi. It's everything. But why is their singer like something from 1980 with that haircut and they all dress like 1980? Is it a no frills statement. I've never been so excited for a band since Nirvana. I ha ent seen stage diving like this since Bad Brains. Makes me want to take my old crippled ass out there.

I saw Turnstile in 2015 opening for Basement in the US, at the time I had no idea who they were but the show was fucking insane, it was at a small venue and the stage was probably 2 feet high, not more than 50 people. It makes me happy to see this video and see what they’ve become. Man that feels like a long time ago now

I was one of the old annoying TS fans who got a ticket to this tour and was like, yeah don't love the new sound. Dude I was talking to was like "you like it enough to be here" lol. They start playing and it was fucking great. Turned out I was next to Danny Diablo and he was right. Shit slapped straight through. Wish these dudes nothing but success. Been fun shows for almost a decade.

Scene gatekeepers are just happy they played lo-fi electronic at the end so nobody gets them confused with REAL, cliche, hardcore bands. My opinion: these are the most liberated gentlemen in hardcore today.

38 here. Grew up to grunge and as the years went by, Tool became my favorite band... sometimes I feel nothing will impress me anymore because it's something that happens where you're younger and more open to things, ans still then, it will just be a echo of something that you loved some time ago. This really impressed me. This really moved me and surprised me. I'm glad to have found this feeling was not really gone.

They all deserve each other. Each member of the band is talented, unique, & carries an amazing self-confident music-loving energetic fun stage presence. This is the first band I’ve seen in a long time that is truly greater than the sum of its parts; but even the parts themselves are amazing. I would never think I’d enjoy this style so much, but they’re doing something that’s clearly special and it’s so cool to see.

If someone described this band to me and showed me pictures of them, I'd not be interested. But listening to them and they're ridiculously good. It's genuinely hard to describe how good they are, and how good the songs they write are. They're special.

It’s hard to describe how amazing this band is. I’m 37 and I haven’t been completely in love with a band and their songwriting since 311. There are some honorable mentions here and there but this band is the real deal. Unbelievable.

I'm just gonna drop Counterparts (Start with "Monument" perhaps? Or Unwavering vowel) and Title Fight (Shed / Symmetry are good places to start) as suggestions. Great taste btw, 311 is fucking amazing.

I think this evidences, that when it comes from transitioning from drummer to front man, there is nobody better than Brendan Yates. I love the energy and sense of fun and freedom that Turnstile bring, a lot of hardcore bands don't have that. One of the best live bands I've ever seen.

I don't really listen to HC but discovering Turnstile made me feel so many things I haven't felt in such a long time with music. The community is amazing, the audience is wild but extremely respectful, you can't see anyone trying to grab them nor the equipment, they just want to enjoy what this incredible band is offering and they are taking it all as it comes. My first listen to Turnstile wasn't good for me, I thought I was listening to a raunchy 90's punk/pop mixture of sorts. But then I gave it another go, watched their brilliant Tiny Desk, listened to their albums and finally watching this. Now I understand that I was judging the book by its cover, and that its content is so much richer than it seems, the energy, the riffs, the grooves, the sweat, the rawness of their craft make them a gem to appreciate. Turnstile is coming to Lollapalooza Argentina, throughout the years, this festival is known to have gone downhill with the artists they brought. But having Turnstile and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard made me realize that I cannot miss it now. Respect.

I feel like his mic going out led to one of the most immersive scenes in one of these show vids. No matter how good these are, you always feel like you wish you could be there, but when he uses the stage-right mic, it feels like a moment with just the video-viewers and not the audience that wouldn't have ever happened otherwise (5:22). I love it.
@LightYagamiVSL2 жыл бұрын
It’s because the audience totally disrespects the stage. I get that stage diving and shit is part of these shows, and i respect that. But when people are jumping off stage monitors, knocking over the vocal mics, and disrupting the show like that, it’s not fair to anyone. That being said, with a band like Turnstile where you know this is gonna happen, the venue really should have provided wireless vocal mics.
