The overpaid DH hits in the post season, something Judge is lacking.

Both have two elite hitters including Soto(Judge and Soto, Lindor and Soto), both have 4 mid to above average hitters(Stanton, Wells, Chisholm, and Torres for the Yankees and Alonso, McNeil, Nimmo, and Vientos for the Mets) and 2 below average or bad hitters(Volpe and Verdugo for the Yankees and Alvarez and Iglesias for the Mets) The main difference between the two teams is the organization itself(FO and ownership)

The amount of people and sportscasters (ESPN namely) who still think the difference was 5mil are just the dumbest people I swear 😂 the Mets offer was 5mil more and 1 year less so the AAV will be higher per year which is what Soto wanted. The Yanks were at 47.5 mil AAV and the Mets were at 51 mil AAV. If you take the difference and compound it over the first 5 years before the opt out, it’s actually 17.5 mil difference and if he doesn’t opt out and the AAV goes up that 4 mil the total of the deal comes to 805 mil with an AAV of 55 mil and the total difference of of the two offers is 92.5 mil (first 5 yrs + last 10 yrs). That’s not even mentioning the signing bonus difference either which the Yanks offered 60 mil while the Mets offered 75 mil. So including the difference in that as well, the total separation was about 107.5 mil. The Yanks were never close in terms of money and from the looks of it competing either considering the Mets had both a harder path in the playoffs and played the dodgers better in the NLCS and oh btw Soto and Lindor were best friends growing up sooo whose really delusional here 😂

Pretty much all of their large contracts throughout their history have been to players already on their team. Also, I’m not even upset that Soto left. If anything I’m glad that he left so the Yankees have the cap space since he’s not worth 750 million. I’m mostly just mad about HOW he left, not THAT he left. I already think the Yankees are better now than they were last year since they now have an actual closer and not a useless idiot that gives up 14 blown saves and a legit first baseman in Cody Bellinger. People fail to see how the one less year bumps the pay. At 760 mil for 16 years, he's paid 47.5 mil year. At 765 mil for 15 years, he's paid 51 mil a year with option and other benefits if option is denied. An extra 3.5 mil a year for 1 year less of time commitment is pretty good for Soto.
