You guys don't know how much I needed to hear this episode. I'm someone who likes to stay within my comfort zone because those few times I ventured out, I had pretty bad experiences. Thank you David so so much for creating this podcast and for making this episode, it's really helped me out so much with my own personal problems.Maybe i'll give the unknown another shot :)

David told the same stories a few times over the years, so if he's lying and still keeping the story consistent, that's pretty impressive lol. Just because you can't understand it, it doesn't mean it's not real.

I wouldn't be surprised, he grew up in Sac town (a lil hard/ghetto) and his experiences aren't far removed from being an only Asian kid in town.. (unfortunately many asians have similar stories). David just comes across like he talks big, so it seems disingenuous

It’s honestly refreshing (in a weird way) gearing Boze’s Story about the church. Where I am, so much toxic crap goes down in the church but everyone wants to hide behind Jesus and act like it’s fine. I’ve been in as well as seen many situations where the church pushes people away rather than bringing them in. It’s ridiculous
@jayduby53305 жыл бұрын
I stopped going and just made my relationship with God personal. We'll let St. Peter decide who has God's grace, sure isn't that lady in the front pew who judges everyone else. If my God is truly fair I think a virtuous life is more important than one spent repenting every week in a room with most with my peers who tries to 'lawyer' their way into heaven.

As a Christian, I have experienced this growing up as well. It boils my blood at how corrupt some churches are.

A lot of people don't really give the kinda love Jesus was talking about. Yesterday I had a conversation with a drug addict that said he wanted to get out of his situation and he expressed to me that he didn't think he would be accepted by the "people in there" and it hurts me.

Boze's personality is so bright and attractive. She's been through a lot, but she's very honest / real about the experiences she's been through and how that's shaped her. I can relate a lot to her going through a phase questioning if I was wrong because I see things differently than other people, but I'm not because I try to see the bigger picture. David and Boze are my 2 favorite. It's important to surround yourself around positive people because there are a lot of toxic people.

The thing is SOME black people are so ignorant about things. My mom and I had this conversation about this. At my Nail Tech school, almost all the black people called Asian people racist slurs or Ling Lings. It really irked me for some reason. We beat up and put down our own people and are some of the most racists people to other people of color. Other peoples ignorance really annoys me. I do realize that people are just products of their environments. As a black person, I would gladly except Boze! I can understand the whole "Emo phase and I grew up with only white friends because other black people won't except me" thing. Like always Love the podcast!!!

Yes it's sad but it's literally taught behaviour. Black people are treated like shit so the ignorant ones think they should do the same it almost makes them feel better about themselves

I grew up in a Muslim family in Pakistan. The stuff we are taught about non Muslims, Muslims of other sects, gay people, jews etc are quite awful. I grew with those prejudices. It was when I came to the West that I became more tolerant. Which is funny because the west is suppose to be full of white racists. It gets tiring listening to Muslims crying about intolerance towards Muslims but Muslims can be quite intolerant themselves.

I can relate to all that Boze was saying about the way African American girls treated her I thank a lot of immigrant black and brown people can relate also.To this day I developed trust issues and animosity when it comes to African Americans because of the shit I went through growing up but anyway. The Caribbean people would've had your back Boze you would've been cool with us😍
@Naistov5 жыл бұрын
As an African American woman, I am currently a bit jaded. There is this stereotype of what we are and other blacks look down us. I am so overly respectful and loving to everyone and I've noticed that a few other African women at my job looks down on me. These behaviors are not helping any civil relations at all. We are obviously not all bad at all.
@ShantalhaitianPrincess5 жыл бұрын
Trust me its not the stereotypes that have us doing that. It's the negative way we were treated by AA's that festered the hate for some.Hate just breed more hate and leaves scares on both sides that some times never heal.But I think with the internet people are coming together and seeing eye to eye cause my youngest sister who's 10 doesn't get the hate that me and my oldest sister got for being a different type of black she has many AA friends so I'm glad that things are getting better cause we are all black and get treated the same why by white so we need to stick together in this country.

David trust me, a LOT of European countries/Europeans don’t speak English. I was born and raised in Europe (Scandinavia) and traveling around in Europe is a regular thing for my friends and family (or just Europeans in general lmao). Many countries I’ve been to, I’ve had difficulties trying to communicate with the locals (not blaming them or anything for not being able to speak English, I’m more so just telling David that it’s possible for him to come to Europe for a challenge cause a lot of Europeans don’t speak english). Of course the tourist attraction are going to have some English speakers, but there are many areas here in EU where people don’t really speak English :)
