Hey David as a Sikh man myself you did no disrespect by not bowing, in our faith we bow to the Guru Granth Sahib as a symbol of respect. Also a symbol of submitting ourselves to them and god. My friends and I knew a pathological/impulsive liar who would lie to make himself look like the victim, which meant he was also vilifying or wrongfully blaming the people he was talking about. When he wasn't the victim, he would lie to make himself look like some prodigy who can learn anything within minutes. Not only was it obvious that he didn't understand shit, but how he would try to explain it made no sense. It was all word vomit and word salad. I thought I had poor reading comprehension because I didn't know anyone could be *that* bad at forming a few sentences. Even worse was he would either talk down on you or talk to you in a way where he thought he was wiser than you. He would try to use big words, but it felt like he was using a thesaurus website. He would also pick up phrases or vernaculars from other people, but it was in that creepy, "I'm trying to be just like you" way. I had to stop using certain slangs and colloquialisms because when he started to use it, I would just cringe. He would also change his story every five minutes and between each person. He was such a compulsive and pathological liar that if anyone called him out with proof, he would try to deny it or try to make the person feel like they "misread" the situation. Also one time, one of my best friend told him God made him as a joke and said that he was a failed abortion lmao.
