I love the plot twist that they sent them home. We all thought the old man would choose to continue the games and that it's hopeless to leave. Only to show that the real world is filled with despair and how money driven all their problems are. And now with the detective on board, we could see the depth to the system!

Well correction, the real world isn't filled with despair, y'all can still live, breath, and have opportunities to turn the tide by making the right choices, it's only a despair to those that done themselves in with their own decisions, but yes to the money driven problem they are experiencing, either way this systematic operation to pry on others desperation for money is a horrible thing to begin with, and definitely needs some looking into by that detective.

@@noctis6826I wouldn’t say all of them created their own problems. Ali was injured at work and wasn’t being paid for his work already so he was in debt due to his boss violating his rights. Saebyok needs the money for her mom in North Korea and to get her brother out of an orphanage. Gihun caused his problems, so did Sangwoo. But not all of them are responsible

@@DaryaSafronova-n6i yeah and even with Gihun its obvious the issues started because he was laid off after the violent strike at his company that ended in the death of his coworkers. then he tried making his own businesses, failed, and THEN stared his spiral down. so he made his own problems but it wouldn't have gotten that bad if life had been a little kinder to him

One piece of information: For character purposes, one of the characters in the story was set as a pickpocket, but pickpocketing has actually become extinct in Korean society since the mid-90s. (Korea's crime arrest rate exceeds 90%)

Be so fr, would you risk your life, probably knowing your gonna die for 18mil even if your fam is starving, like that aint enough, me my kids kids should never worry about money. Although you could argue that any amount of money in the world wouldnt be enough especially if being that rich becomes normal. Like we see modern day rich doing everything to get more rich no matter how much they have and the poor getting poorer as a result

While still a lot of money, the South Korean Won is worth considerably less than a dollar. It’s about 1,300 Won to the dollar. So the final prize of 45 billion Won is about 34 million dollars. Still a lot of bread.

What you probably want to say is that their currency denomination is different with more digits as opposed to it having less 'worth'; to put it in perspective, 1,300 Won will buy you a can of coke in S. Korea and if you exchange it to USD to spend it here (~$1.00), it carries about the same worth of being able to buy a can of coke (outside California still).

Considering it is 50/50 that there are an uneven number of players and that the result would be 200-200 before the last vote is 1-800 by itself, considering it is that unlikely to go different it is probably a 90% chance it wont be that exact number because the 1in 800 would still be about a 50/50 because just one has to vote different, so its 1/8000 right so this happening is as probable as you rolling 8000 on a 8000 sided Cube, im rusty on probability so thanks for correting me or discussing this
