Heads up in case you're ever wondering if you're in Montreal. All the signs will be in French because the separatist language police have basically outlawed English on public signage. If you see French and English on the sign you are most likely in Eastern Canada or Ontario.

If you see english with french, you could be literally anywhere in Canada. In the prairies we have it like that, on the west coast it's like that.

One trick if you're in Canada, if the signs are in both English and French its probably anywhere but Quebec, you'll only really see English signs in Quebec if they are significantly smaller than their equivalent French one

Man, why do I only know useless tidbits and not the important stuff. I saw the flag and immediatley knew "That's where Rhianna was born!" and "When you turn 100 they put your face on a stamp". But did I know the name of that country? Nope. (To be fair to myself: I was guessing either Barbados and Belize. I just choose the wrong one...)

I love how people see Canadian flags and always assume Montreal, which is famously in Quebec.... Which has a separatist history and is the LEAST likely of provinces in the whole country to fly a national flag. 😅 I know it's not super commonly known outside Canada, but to Canadians it's a hilarious assumption. Also, fun with flags sucks. ❤

Does Trott think Cyrillic is a language? He does realize it's just an alphabet that languages like Russian and Kazakh are written in... right? Also literally the next round after they comment on how it always seems to be in the capital, they all choose Montreal.... the smoothest of brains.
