To be fair, I don't think many people outside of Scotland know the names of our counties

@@NotRingoStarr I play a decent amount of Geoguessr and like geography and I can name every England county and US state. Outside of the ones named after the more famous cities (Ayrshire, Aberdeenshire etc), I know Fife and Lothian and that's it. I don't think I've ever heard or seen Linlithgowshire or Kirkcudbrightshire in my entire life.

@@SaintPhoenixx There's certainly some weird ones but Linlithgowshire and Kirkcudbrightshire are thankfully no longer official counties. The former had it's status downgraded in 1890 and the latter in 1975 I believe. They later became 'Midlothian' and 'Dumfries & Galloway' respectively

RL GeoGuessr in reverse. Craig gives them a street view photo of somewhere in Bristol, and then they have to go find it. Could be both fun and a nightmare for a Hat vs. Alternatively, blindfold them, stuff them in the back of a van, then dump them somewhere and make them find it on a map

What gets me about these videos is the fact that these cities still have small shops down pretty much every street, where in the states most downtowns are ghost towns.

We don't have the landmass for massive shopping malls, so whilst there are some retail parks and larger shopping centres, none of them even come close to the size of the ones I've visited when on holiday in America. Most cities developed over time from medieval, Viking or Roman settlements with newer buildings just put on top of the old ones originally and the town plans of most cities are still quite close to the originals - with the narrow roads, and narrow building plots. So we get lots of tiny sized stores even if they are big names because rent is super expensive so most places can't afford to buy multiple adjoining buildings. The age of a lot of the buildings makes them listed which limits what you can do with them (so couldn't knock down a wall between two buildings for example to make a bigger store) and then given the historic nature of most cities, building at all is heavily restricted in areas of known historical significance (due to needing full archaeological excavations prior to building work starting). And the bits between cities are made up mostly of countryside and roads through the countryside, so already in use in other ways that makes building more shopping complexes not a viable thing. Lots are protected as "Green Belts" so can't be built on. Its kinda just about scale really. We've got a lot crammed into not very much space!
