That Kid Dracula track is actually a Debussey composition, one of his Children's Corner songs. I wasn't aware of the Asterix game on gameboy. You should check out the soundtracks for Tetris Attack and Smurf's Nightmare.

The Smurf's nightmare soundtrack is composed by Alberto Gonzales, who also composed Number 5 and 2. He is my favorite composer of VGM, I really like his music :-)

i dont like how no one talks about trip world, and how its the only game with percussion sounds that arent made just with the noise, in my opinion thats the best soundtrack of all game boy games, not just because of the sound design, the songs are just awesome

You really should check out more games for the Nintendo Gameboy published by SUNSOFT. They made absolute awesome tunes for it. Daffy Duck - The Marvin Missions Gremlins 2 - The New Batch Batman Batman: Return Of The Joker and more... Yeah, the first Batman game has some serious awesome tunes... AAAND the second game has even more advanced soundscapes... Holy cow XD My favourite is the fight against the Joker. Such a groove...!!

I agree - Trip World does have the best overall soundtrack on the Game Boy. Sunsoft games really have the best music and that is in big parts thanks to the percussion.

Number 4 is actually "Golliwoggs Cakewalk" by Debussy from 1912. It has used a Soundtrack for the classic game "Mousetrap" before, that's why many people call it that.

To be fair, it is kind of an obscure soundtrack, and it was even more obscure when this video was uploaded. Still deserved a spot here, though. One of the best GB tunes ever. Although now that I think about it, there already was a tune from Der Maus in here, and that is another obcure title from the same composer, so... yeah. Edit: Same goes for the Asterix Game Over title screen. Obscure game, same composer.

The sad fact remains that a lot of the hard work from the composers was lost on the gamers who didn't wear head/earphones. The blue and red earbuds supplied with the gameboy were hardly a match for whatever we are listening to this video with today. The music was a critical ingredient back then.

Probably my favorite Gameboy game song is the credit scroll from Mega Man II. People complain a lot about that games soundtrack, but I really like it. I use to beat the game and leave the credit song play while I played with my toys.

Erm... if it's "one song per franchise", then what's Kid Dracula doing here when Castlevania is already on the list? It might be a silly spinoff, but it's still part of the franchise... Also, if you like GB music then listen to Level 1 theme from Prehistorik Man and Halloween World from Baby Felix Halloween.

+MidBoss666 That's a good point, but I think it's debatable. I personally don't consider Kid Dracula a part of the Castlevania franchise, since it's not really in the name. It's kinda like "The Final Fantasy Adventure", which is called "Mystic Quest" in Europe. So is it still a Final Fantasy game? Yes and no, considering on which way you look at it. And BTW: I have to agree with you on Prehistoric Man. That's some amazing Game Boy music! :-D

+HathiFan Not the best example here XD The Final fantasy Adventure games were all originally Seiken Densetsu games in japan, they were renamed "Final Fantasy Adventure" because Seiken Densetsu never left Japan and they were unsure if it would sell, so they chose the name of their more popular franchise. as for Kid Dracula, it's actually a canon story that takes place in the Castlevania universe, do note that the main character is Alucard, who appears in several other Cas gams, and the main antagonist is Galamoth who is also a recurring character (most notably as the strongest boss in Symphony of The Night). So while the design is very different (it's said thet it looks like this cause it's told from young Alucard's viewpoint), and it is more or less a silly spinoff, it is still part of the franchise.

You know, the thing is that, as many people have mentioned in the comments before, this song isn't actually an original song for Game Boy. So even if Kid Dracula wasn't part of the Castlevania universe, I shouldn't have included the song, because it doesn't count as a "Game Boy Song". So, I've made a mistake anyway, but now, it's the way it is. I'm not going to re-upload a new video with a different song, because that's what honorable mentions are for, right? But thank you for pointing that out to me, I wasn't completely aware of that! You learn something new every day, even if it's about video games that are over 20 years old :-D

BRO... the Grandmaster Theme from Pokemon TCG is hands down, THE BEST game boy song I've ever heard, I even play it once in a while up to this day. And yeah, that Asterix game over song was pretty cool too. But man, do yourself a favor and listen to the Grandmaster Theme.

The Grandmaster Theme is a really great song, I agree (even though I personally prefer the Club Leader Duel). But Pokémon TCG is technically a Game Boy Color Game. I think it was one of those black cartridges that could be played on the original Game Boy as well, but on the box and cartridge itself it says Game Boy Color. Same goes for Pokémon Gold and Silver. Actually, it might be time to make a Top 10 Game Boy Color Songs list... It's been 9 years since this video

After Burst has some great tracks. I only discovered that one a few years ago. (Not that my Game Boy music knowledge was comprehensive by any means, but if it was Japanese only and didn't show up on those x-in-1 bootleg carts, I didn't hear of it until adulthood.) Among games I actually own, Donkey Kong Land's music in the zeppelin stage is really good. And the music for the first stage of Kirby's Block Ball almost made me cry when I was 13!
