Not that you need my ideas, but a little bit of very thin shim brass or even square or two of tamiya tape slapped on the tank and painted over can be a really neat way of doing a repair patch on the tanks of industrial locos, something not a lot of people add into these models but something that was very often present especially as time wore on and the tanks got pitted and needed a repair.

Thanks man! I don’t use expresses so I can’t comment on mine (though it’s fine over the smaller hornby and peco examples), but I’ve seen elsewhere that they run fine! Hope this helps!
