I have to admit, I think my favourite era for her was when she was Warbird. Really interesting period for the character.

I think Warbird was so interesting because it was the first modern take on her, considering she had been relatively out-of-commission as Binary for well over a decade at that point. I don't love all the choices of the Warbird era, but it actually gave her a character again and that's undeniably important.

I bought this a few months ago. I was hesitant and had a bit of buyers remorse at first because I've never read the content before but the price was good and still sealed so I snatched it up. I did like some of the artwork inside that I've seen in other review videos. Unfortunately it's the modern cover but I don't mind too much. Hopefully I will like it when I get around to reading it.

Just picked up the two epics yesterday. Had the two key issues of Mystique and Deathbird back in the day, being an X-guy. Can’t go wrong with Claremont; his average is most writers “great”. Would love some epics of Shulkie, Spider-woman and Dazzler. For the latter two, their appearances and series would be a little too much for one omni each but perfect for a couple epics like Carol. And it was David Anthony Kraft on She Hulk. Cheers.

As much as I want to believe we could find a way to get all of classic Dazzler or Spider-Woman into one omnibus, I think both of their Essentials are a pretty good map and they make it clear it's a bit too much material for one book. (Dazzler would have a better shot of fitting, I think.) I am loving that all of them are hitting Marvel Masterworks now - can't wait to have a shelf full of Masterworks of the Women of Marvel!

Came out the same week as the Wonder Woman by Phil Jimenez Omnibus. Which was one of DC’s pesky books that comes out to $49.99 first week. So I went with the impulse purchase and spent way more for that one cent haha. Having not actually read the material yet, which I’m sure I’ll enjoy, the run has always seemed odd. The false start on the creative team of Conway looks annoying on paper. Then art by Jim Mooney in the late 70s seems very dated even by the time of publication. Though editorially I get the pick, given his iconic Supergirl run. Then Cockrum comes on for a pitiful couple issues to redesign the costume to its most iconic version literally right before the title ends. Surprised they included the Avengers excerpts at all honestly. In addition or in place of a KSD editorial, would have been interesting for Marvel to reach out to Carol Strickland and get her influential Rape of Ms Marvel essay.

She had a rough few years in ANAD Marvel and they character-assassinated her last year in that mini-series, but Kelly Thompson has been KILLING IT on her title all 2019. Best Carol, maybe ever.

I generally like Kelly Thompson (her Rogue and Gambit/Mr & Mrs X was phenomenal and her Hawkeye/WCA were great) but I've been wary of post-Kelly Sue Captain Marvel because of Civil War II and how godawful it was. Is "that mini-series" The Life of Captain Marvel? I just read that last week and hated it. Like, it was kinda cute seeing her interact with her family and her small-town roots, and the art was really good.... but then they brought in the most unnecessary and stupid retcon in existence! It doesn't even make her more like her movie version so I don't understand why they did it at all. Ugh. Anyway, I will definitely be checking out Kelly Thompson's run. I've also really wanted to read this earlier material, and its now available in so many different formats! As nice as the omnibus is, what version would you recommend for someone wanting to dip their toes into it, and maybe not spend a huge amount of money, but will probably end up wanting the whole run in the end anyway? Epics are relatively expensive, how many of them does it take to match the omnibus? And is the omnibus a complete run? Questions, questions. Thanks as always for your video!

Oh no! I recently convinced myself to save money and not buy this. Now I want it again :D If I could get my hands on that awesome DM cover I would surely buy it. But for now I try to think about that modern cover.

Yeah, if it was only the modern cover I might have skipped it, TBH. I know it's only a dust jacket, but that thing was fugly.
