Usually a lurker on your streams, but I've gotta comment on this because...dude. You didn't just make a "haunted house." I don't know if you had the theme in your head the whole time, but if I may lend my interpretation...a paranormal researcher discovered an abandoned orphanage that they later discovered was shut down because they were found to be torturing the children. There's evidence of a normal orphanage with a lobby, common/play room where they were having a Christmas "celebration," kitchen, office/study for the "caretaker"...and then the secrets in the basement. Evidence of where they locked up the children, filmed...I don't want to know...and even a secret journal of one of the captive children left behind. The researcher set up camp in the abandonded kitchen one night to try a summoning spell to speak to the children. The spirits of the children who didn't survive are summoned and possess the dolls and toys in the bunkroom (THE PINWHEEL SPINNING ON ITS OWN, MY GOD). The question is, though...were the spirits of the children friendly...or vengeful? And, did the researcher survive...? In case it wasn't obvious, this is one of the best Animal Crossing haunted "houses" I've ever seen. 👏👏👏👏👏

If you were to time skip a couple of months and then reset it, you could have cockroaches running around the haunted house. That would add an extra touch to really make the house feel like it's been abandoned for a long time.

I did a “haunted mansion on the hill” type house, no blood but def old and creepy lol. Love ghost stories so was the second house ive been slowly working on lol. Think i have like 15 cobwebs i had to save and a bunch of fake art on the walls. Turned out awesome!

Something I saw somewhere and have been implementing in my own haunted house is night-vision goggles and bulb boppers behind a bookshelf. Looks just like a bunch of creepy green eyes glowing in the dark.

As someone who recently created a second account on her Switch to have a second house to decorate on the island, it's worth noting that if it's just one person with one Nintendo Switch Online account, you won't be able to get the Pro custom designs with the second account as it won't recognise that you're the same person. My design goals with the second house were to make a (Twin Peaks) Double R Diner replica in the upstairs, and an arcade in the basement (the rest of the house is a work in progress), and one thing I wanted to incorporate in the design was a cherry pie, where there are loads of different designs of brimmed hats on the Able Sisters kiosk. Unfortunately the only thing that carries over between accounts are the custom patterns, not the Pro designs for clothing items, and even if I placed a Pro design item with my primary account, the secondary account couldn't pick it up or do anything with it. A minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things, but annoying nonetheless. 😕 Praise: I've really enjoyed your videos, Pat - your campsite design video helped me create a campsite area on my island that I'm really proud of. 😊 Keep up the great work! 💖

This was absolutely brilliant! The creepiest I have seen so far! I knew what each room was and felt like before you explained where you were going... you dont have to explain at all! So scary! And YES, I love the Christmas room... you know without seeing any blood that this family was murdered. This couldn't be more perfect. The silence, the crickets, the leaves, I can go on and on!!!!!! So few people get that Halloween isn’t about horror. In fact, very few horror movies take place on Halloween and I hate that that is what is culturally embraced now... Anyway, I’ll take creepy that works your imagination over gore any day, and you nailed it! 10/10

I did a hay maze using hay beds. My son suggested hedges but I have always gone to hay mazes so I wanted that for nostalgia reasons. Hedges would have been easier.

This is AWESOME!!! So many great things. You are exactly right about the blood and Gore being unnecessary. The suggestion of evil or evil deeds are 1000 times more scary to me than the bloody aftermath of evil things. Know what I mean?

I like how there is no music playing! I personally would never use candles and penta circles in my "haunted" house because they give me the typical standard horror movie vibe and I'm more a fan psychological horror ( things you don't really understand like "why are they here?")

@NintenTalk Pat, I have two requests and a question about your latest mystery game. It's great, but you've got one dig spot that uses the vaulting pole. The available space is so small and tight that I could hardly move my villager around to pull out my shovel. Twice I called Resetti to rescue me from that spot because I was stuck and couldn't leave. Is there a way you can make that area a little larger for better manueverability? My other request is if you could turn on the lights in the haunted house. My eyes aren't the greatest, and I'm not sure what to look for in the house. My question is that I'm not sure what my goal is in this game. Am I looking for a candy bag? A treasure chest? Am I looking to catch a villager red handed? There's more than one guilty villager? I love your effort here, Pat. I just need some help.

The back room is probably the creepiest in my opinion. If I were exploring an abandoned house [ which i wouldn't cause i'm too chicken shit ] if I saw that there was a squatter living there? Nope- The Jail cell and the orphanage rooms seemed a little more out of place and unrealistic- while still spooky and something I'd still nope the hell outta, I'd probably relate the cell to the squatter, anyways so...
