My daily truck routes are back and for over the 92 san mateo bridge few times a day. Some nights are extra eerie than others especially the foggy nights. Lots of tragedies have happened on that span over the years. During lockdown was the scariest/creepiest.

Oh really? Just creepy or have you had actual experiences you couldn’t explain?

Great show. Very true. I personally have driven route 92 over the Bay and yes it is very creepy. Long, long bridge. And Blood Alley o er the Santa Cruz mountains is nerve wracking. Nasty route. El Camino Real is lovely. At least in the daylight.

@@FrightNightScares no, but my mom did on Blood Alley. She was driving to visit relatives with my brother, sister, cousin and I in the car asleep. It took her an extra 3 hours to drive the route, and she said she saw shadows alongside the road. Very odd. She o ly took that route a handful of times. She said she'd rather go the long way round. Weird.

I always felt that the Ventura Freeway had a weird vibe about it. I always felt uneasy and passing that damned Colorado Street Bridge (known locally as Suicide Bridge) as well.

Highway 1 felt like it had a gloomy vibe. The hairs on my neck would stand up each time and I never knew why. Freaky stuff! Another highway/interstate that feels creepy is the I5 and bears, the moniker the Grapevine.

I’ve gone over the San Mateo bridge thousands of times while growing up in the bay and while working night shift as a local truck driver. Never heard of it being haunted and never seen anything. Same thing with CA-17 and CA-152

Back in the mid-90s, a very credible and sincere acquaintance told of an account on hwy 108 between Jamestown and Oakdale Ca. . Coming from Jamestown, they were driving the double lane section of the hwy, a very dark and desolate area at night. They had about a mile or so before the hwy merged back to a single lane, just before Knights Ferry tune off. They said... Coincidentally, right after thinking they were the only car on the road, having seen no other cars for miles, they came into view of a car ahead that was in the right lane moving very slow. As they approached the car from the left lane, they started to notice a bluish glow that completely filled the inside of this car. As they started to get alongside of the car, they could see no occupants inside even with the bluish glow filling the interior. Nor could they see any details, like the steering wheel. Having the feeling of ice sickles come over them, they hit the gas and got the hell outta there. After rounding a bend, and covering much of a straight away, they slowed down. Waiting to see if the car came around the bend, which there was no other way to go....it never did. This story has always stuck with me, so I thought I would share. I drive that hwy quite often, rarely at night, and haven't seen anything myself. Wouldn't mind, though.

@@FrightNightScares I used to go hiking at Turnbull, up to where the empty water tanks covered in graffiti are at. I remember one time I was hiking alone during the daytime, and as I was nearing the top of the canyon, I suddenly felt really uneasy for some reason... and I remember stopping to look around. I noticed that it was eerily silent. Usually, you can hear bugs buzzing around or birds, etc.. but i didn't hear any of those normal things. It was like a thick, heavy silence - very unnatural given my surroundings. I remember looking up to my right, which was the incline/hillside up towards the top of the ridge, and amongst the thick brush was this giant, black-colored, wooden cross... straight out of Pet Sematary-the creepiest thing EVER. It looked like it had been there for ages... just randomly poking out of the dense brush. I started to think.. How could anyone even put that thing up there? It would've been tough for anyone to have done it because it was on a steep incline that was not easily accessible, and the hillside was covered in this extremely thick brush with what appeared to be big thorns. Just really ODD... really unnerving. All I could remember was wanting to get out of there and back down to Turnbull Cyn Rd as fast as possible, get in my car, and head straight home. This happened in 2010, and I have never returned back. When I asked a few friends who live in Hacienda Heights about Turnbull Canyon, they had stories for days... Everything from satanic rituals to dark magic, some woman who was dragged to death along the Canyon road by drug dealers, and bits and pieces of the woman were scattered for a couple miles along the way... I don't know how true all those stories are, but that creepy cross I saw and the overwhelming dread I felt that day were definitely REAL, so I believe there's definitely something dark - or some sort of dark energy that exists in that area, FOR SURE.

@citiesandskylines The first time I went to Turnbull Canyon, it was just a spontaneous drive with a friend to shake off boredom. But after we left, I noticed a handprint on the passenger door that definitely wasn't there before-and it wasn't mine or my friend's either. The whole place had a heavy, unwelcoming feel, and I couldn't shake the feeling that we weren’t alone. My second encounter with the canyon was profoundly more disturbing. I was with a few friends at the time, and as we drove through, one of them saw what looked like a woman dressed in white, maybe even a ghost, and we all heard weird whispers and sounds that shouldn’t have been coming from the car. It felt like someone else was in the car with us that we couldn't see. My friend driving felt a phantom touch on her arm, akin to a human brush, though no one was touching her. Another friend was so freaked out by the vibe that she was begging us to just nope outta there. As we left, a crude depiction of what seemed to be a ritualistic act was found etched on the driver's window, intensifying the sense that something malevolent had followed us from the canyon. This persistent sensation of being watched and a presence lurking invisibly in my room plagued me long after our departure. Due to these harrowing experiences, I have resolved never to return to Turnbull Canyon.

@@FrightNightScares yes, a young lady and her brother were going somewhere and she was going too fast, ran the stop sign at that corner and hit another vehicle. The accident killed the brother and the man in the other car. Numerous other accidents happened in that area, as well, and that corner was accused of being cursed.
