I live in Knoxville...and I've been hearing this for years. When I lay down to go to sleep, I hear the music, it sounds like chorded music and maybe voices, it doesn't sound like an electrical sound, it sounds like true music...like a very faint radio somewhere in the distance. My husband hears it occasionally, but not as often as I. My husband is a family physician here in the area, and he has no explanation for the sound or why we might be hearing it. I have always found it strange, but soothing, and I just decided to enjoy it. But tonight I was watching videos about a dog named Bunny that pushes buttons to communicate (very cute), which took me to a story about a low pitched sound that many people hear, which brought me here, to the Roan Mt. story. When I ran across this, I was shocked to read the history of this sound, and that others have heard this so close to where I live. So... maybe we're not "hearing things", maybe we really are hearing something.
