@@nanowolf3718 No research required and they mentioned it was "nose cone" or something. Obvious only the crew compartment would be subject to extreme pressures, too difficult at that. All the rest would be pressure equalized--water pressure from all directions, essentially zero stress except for pure compression which most structural materials aren't fazed by at these levels. Specific mode of failure is interesting, but haven't found it compelling enough to study. Whole thing seemed stupid which is not a learning experience for me, lol.

@lisal.4498Ай бұрын
The photo is when they found it originally I think, before they pulled it up.
@irateamatsuАй бұрын
@@lisal.4498correct. You can see some type of tether wrapped around it. It must have been too heavy to pull up all at once, so they had to bring it to the surface piece by piece. In the surface pictures, you can even see the damage from two attempts of them trying to pull it up as a whole on the white panels.

The slightest imperfection in the vessel would be exploited by the unfathomable pressures exerted all around it, and we're talking in thousands and thousands of tons. Of course, carbon and steel glued together had those imperfections and they were indeed exploited under exceedingly ridiculous pressures. Just hold a bucket of water, one bucket, and feel the weight of it, now imagine several thousand of them all on top of each another....that weight equals pressure, scary stuff if you're pratting around!

Rush was an idiot, the other fools had too much money to burn, but Nargeolet knew better than to step into that thing. He's been doing this for DECADES and understands the quality of submersible it takes to get to Titanic. His death is the true loss to the Titanic community.

james cameron was devastated. RIP Nargeolet and the rest. at least it happened quicker than they knew what happened. they never felt anything, it happened in milliseconds. the implosion happened faster then the brain takes to feel anything, that's how fast it was.

Using a controller isn't that weird, it's been used in plenty of applications, even by the military. And, obviously, wasn't the reason for failure. It worked fine for what it needed to do. Of all the things they did wrong on this sub, the controller by itself would be the least of my concerns.

Hours after the incident, ships were immediately sent to the area. Multiple underwater drones were sent to search the area for a vessel which obviously exploded the moment communication was lost. They have photos and videos of the wreckage at 12,500 feet, discovered exactly what happened and who's responsible. Yet Nord Stream 2 was blown up by the USA a few weeks before and lies at a depth of 260 feet. We have short clips of a very grainy video, no one has been held responsible or punished. Almost like they used this accident to distract from the USA blowing up a natural gas pipeline to destroy European manufacturing, plunge tens of millions of people in to fuel poverty, cause unprecedented inflation and destroy the European economy to keep the US a world power. Almost...
