The last communication from the Titan( dropping two weights), they seemingly were trying to either head back up or slow their decent. This is kinda terrifying, to think, that even for a moment there was the awareness that something wasn't right, and didn't have time to act fast enough...

I’ve been into everything Titanic since I was a kid and my wife and I have been to all of the Titanic museums within reasonable distance from our home. 2-3 years ago a friend of mine who is a Titanic nerd and filthy rich, found out that there was a company called Ocean Gate and they were eventually going to start taking passengers on dives to the Titanic! My friend had even gone so far as to reach out to Ocean Gate for more information but he said they never got back to him. He asked me “if he could get tickets to dive to the Titanic would I go with him!” My answer was a quick and emphatic “hell no”! There’s no way I’m getting my black a$$ into a tiny submersible to go see the Titanic. It’s too hostile an environment and given my crappy luck I’d put everyone else’s life in danger as well so absolutely not! I’ll view her from afar. That said I can’t believe these people all died because of their poor choices. Stockton and his team were playing Russian Roulette with their own lives and the lives of their passengers. How so? That is how dives go, you go to the general location based on GPS, but the ocean currents are always moving.
