Haunting Voodoo Banjo | swamp blues, mysterious, charming

They call him the Miracle Man. They say he's a ghost or a demon, but I'm not so sure about all that. As the stories go, he roams the bayou in his colorful wagon, only appearing at night, out of the mists, to those that are truly desperate. Willing to make a deal. He has an easy smile and an easier sense of style. He'll laugh and eat and smoke with you, but every conversation ends with an opportunity. A chance to receive what you want with little in exchange. At least up front. They say you only ever see him once and if you deny his gift, that's that. Missed your chance. They say it's for the best. They say if you're quiet and really listen, you can hear the swamp itself sobbing at night for all the lost souls who were fooled by the Miracle Man. But I'm not sure I believe all that.

While I was out solo Trekking in a remote area, I heard music from afar. I came across a Woman who looked somethin similar to the video photo. She was sitting alone in a hallow in the middle Cascades up in Washington state. She played a lonesome mesmerizing tune that I can still hear. I didn't speak a word. Have any info on how to play some of your music? Do you use clawhammer or bluegrass style, and what tuning do you use for this and the space banjo one?

I use clawhammer and a finger picking style that has formed over the years of playing. It doesn't sound like bluegrass but I use 3 fingers to pluck the strings. I have a KZbin Shorts video that shows me playing it if you're interested. For tuning, I use several: standard G, sawmill tuning, gCGCD, and gCGCC. I've written by far the most in gCGCC but I don't think it's a very common tuning.
