I really like this foundation! My skin has changed so much over the past few years and I thought it was just a part of life as we get older, but older women that I worked with started asking me what’s going on with my skin, so I found out it wasn’t normal. I got my hormones checked and I have subclinical thyroid and that seems to be the cause of all the flaking that’s been going on. This foundation looks really good on me for most of the day and then some redness will peak through the dry flakes that form on my nose by the end of the day, but it holds up the longest for me so far.

On the HL website I put my best foundations shades and got the perfect match with 145 light cool, I also answered their questions and found it very helpful. Their online swatches just look off, way too saturated for me to guess which shade I would be. To get more coverage with this one I use my dry ecotools bio blender sponge 😊

The sephora site match3d me to 175 and I bought it only to find it was golden m3dium and about 4 shades too dark. I turned it in for 110. Love this Foundation! Glad you liked it too!

Hi Shelly. I agree about the Sephora shade finder. When I was looking to purchase the Hourglass foundation, it kept matching me to a 7. Nope. I knew it would be way too dark. I purchased through Nordstrom (I had a $10 gift certificate) number 4, and though a bit yellow, it blends beautifully. Now I'm on the fence as to whether to try the Haus Labs and see which would work better for my dry skin. If you had to choose between the two, what would you choice be? I'm so glad that Ziva and Charlie are getting along so well. Sorry I haven't been catching you on Friday nights, but I watch baby Henry from 6:15am - 3:15pm, and when I get home, I'm drained! I wear Mac nw15 and ingot 160 light neutral. I only swatched my arm and compared to the Mac seemed perfect. My shade range seems vast though. I can wear warm, cool and neutral and the Tom Ford is olive under. I don't know they all look good.

I'm having a hard time with the shade range. I have a fair/light neutral for the most part. I have some Vitiligo on my skin. Some is cool. But I use neutral. The brand I use isn't on there. It's matching me as a medium on the sephora shade match camera app. I keep going into different lights

Ooooh it is close because I've worn the HECK out of both of them! I'd probably have to say the Nars because I wore it exclusively through 2 months of travel, in humidity in Ireland to heat in Cancun and Arizona and all summer long. But I've worn the Haus ever since I got back and reviewed it! They're both awesome. Nars is a little more dewy so I pretty much choose based on the finish, because they are both super comfortable and wear well.

I just ordered from Haus Labs for the first time. I've probably got my shade completely wrong. I went for 110 because like you, the shade finder was way off, but now I think I went a little too light. I'm from Australia and we don't have Haus Labs in our Sephora, so I had to do it all completely online

I had the same experience with the shade finder, I’m one shade darker than you normally, and it had me in the mediums lol I’m like no way! I ended up matching by swatches too. I have dry skin, it initially looked good but looked caked by end of day. Clinique’s new serum foundation is wayyyy better on me.

I thought it looked beautiful when I 1st put it on and first cpl hrs but 5 hrs later. Its starting to look like its lifting off my face. I used Peter R pore primer around nose and I used charlotte t setting spray. What should I do to make it look better???

Sometimes it's a matter of finding what product it's not liking the combination with. I would try doing your makeup the same as usual, but skip the setting spray. If that doesn't change it, next time do the same but different primer. And so on until you figure out what the conflict is. Sometimes it's just our body chemistry but since you do have early success with it I'm inclined to think it either doesn't like some part of your other makeup or it doesn't like something in your skin care. I have foundations that are picky about what SPF or moisturizer I have underneath. The Haus Labs has worked well for me regardless. I don't use setting spray with it though - that's probably our only difference.

Some matte foundations look powdery on me. I don't wear matte often in part for that reason. Have you tried using setting spray with foundation? Sometimes that helps decrease the powdery look for me.

Hi Delifa! I don't wear my makeup to sleep and I don't stay up for 24 hours straight so I have not tested if it wears for 24 hours. I would say it is transfer resistant (for example, I can wear sunglasses with it and it doesn't transfer off the bridge of my nose), but if I blow my nose, some will wipe off on the tissue. I've never found a foundation that is completely transfer proof.

I just watched your Tom Ford Soft Matte review (a recent love of mine), and between that one and this one, which do you prefer?

Ooooooooh that is tough. I now have 2 shades of the Tom Ford so I can wear it year-round, which is rare for me to drop that kind of money on multiple shades.... but I've been full on obsessed with the Haus since I got it (which surprised me because I had pretty much given up on the brand, not finding anything special before this, though I do love Lady Gaga). I'd probably say Haus for the price, but the Tom Ford is such a gorgeous finish and it's very hard for me to find matte foundations that don't dry me out or make me look dehydrated, so it's totally worth the money. The Haus is a tiny bit more luminous in its finish so I think I'd recommend deciding based on the finish. Slightly more matte in the TF and slightly more luminous in the Haus.

They both are very very close as far as my grading goes! I would decide based on the finish - I'd say the Haus is a little bit more of a dewy finish than the Dior. Otherwise, very similar in coverage and smoothing and wear.

I like the My Dream palette! The shades aren't exactly revolutionary (I could probably cobble together similar ones if I pulled out all my palettes) but I am not a cobble-together kind of girl, so.... lol :) I have a video coming up with an eye look I did with the palette showing how I did it - I think it will post next week (the week of Oct 24).

I wish I could go without concealer but I can’t. When I was younger I never wore concealer. I’m 47 like you and I never wore concealer when I was younger just foundation and powder but I was always in full glam back then except for lashes. I would get up at 430 every morning to get ready that was when everyone was perming they’re hair and wearing a full face of makeup. I would get up every morning and get ready in full glam for school 😂 kids today don’t wear makeup like I did in school most just wear mascara a little foundation maybe blush I did everything a full face except eyelashes but only cause I didn’t know how to use them if I did I’m sure i would have wore them too 😂 your makeup looks great I like this foundation on you I think I’ll definitely pick it up

I love the plum matte and the duochrome shimmer in the ND palette! The rest of the palette is nothing earth-shattering but I do enjoy that for this particular palette it seems easier than usual to mix and match colors in it, and I enjoy her formula so as long as I have a couple favorite shades I'm happy. But if you already have similar shades and aren't an eyeshadow palette "collector" like I am ( lol sounds better than hoarder right?!) it's not a must-have. It's just a very nice all around fun and usable palette.

Yep I've got 4.5 Vienna - it matches me well for summer (when I tend to match to my arms which get maybe a shade darker than the rest of the year). I will probably buy 2.5 Yukon for the rest of the year. I have Yukon in one of their other formulas and it's a good match most of the year.

Yeah they closed the Sephora in JCP that I had in town here so now I'm back to having to drive over an hour to the closest Sephora if I want to sample anything.... so it was wing and a prayer for me! I think it worked out. This is pretty bang on but I am SO curious to see what an in-person swatch of the "cool golden olive" would look like. I'm not even sure if my somewhat-local Sephora carries Haus Labs in store. I haven't been there since before the 'rona.

They are so very very very close - I score the Dior 99 and this one 98, though I have been wearing the Haus more frequently as the finish on the Haus labs has a little more satin of a finish where the Dior is a little more matte, and I've been in a more satin-y mood. All else equal I'd say you can't go wrong either way.

I’ve been lucky enough that the Sephora shade finder has worked for me most of the time, but I always always look up shades on third party websites, and watch reviews of them on KZbin because the shade finder has been wrong too many times for me to fully trust it, and the way Sephora shows shade pics is way off most of the time, especially for blushes and lip colors.
