Hausa stand up! In this episode Dr Catel discusses the formation of the Hausa Kingdoms, including the legend of Bayadijja (or Bayagidda) and the incorporation of the Fulani into its Kingdoms.
BNH is going to be like a crash course (or an edutainment series) on Nigerian history, but along the way will also touch on other parts of West African history.

Bayadijja or Bayagida? 🤷‍♂️ The origin stories Dr Catel choses to share in these videos are LEGENDS (or in some cases pure MYTH) and it's therefore possible that they contain falsehoods or are untrue. This is because there are no written records of the true origins. Various different origin stories were transmitted orally by different peoples and Dr Catel is simply choosing to share the ones that he finds most interesting. Also bibliography and sources can be found in the description Update: Our patreon url has changed and is now patreon.com/ronuspirit

Hello from the land of Ashur and Nineveh, My brothers and sisters in blood, There was a paper published in 2021 that agued based on historical evidence that the Hausa people of Kebbi state in Nigeria are descended from Ashur-Uballit II the last Assyrian monarch who fled Harran along with his soldiers and powerful countrymen. They fled Mesopotamia in 609 BC and reached Kebbi in 600 BC. Assyrians were mostly killed or enslaved after the fall of Nineveh. However, few of us fled into Hakkari mountains in today's Turkey and lived there until 1915 during which Ottomans committed a genocide against our people and we lost two thirds of our populations. However, only recently we were informed that the royal families and military personnel led by our last king fled into West Africa saving the rest of the nation and forming the Hausa Kingdom. It's 2600 years that we lost contact of you guys. Even though we were converted to Christianity in 4th century and you guys to Islam in 14th century both of which were conspiratorial but we have the same blood and history. Imagine if we unite once more and bring back the glory of Assyrian Empire. ---Love

Did you take african ancestry? Normally they tell you want tribe you belong to, Like in Nigeria it can be hausa, yoruba or igbo. But from what i can see is that you are probably igbo from south eastern Nigeria. The southern eastern part of Nigeria has borders with cameroon which is also close to congo. I hope have helped a little bit you can do deeper research.

Ray Kemet it ain’t nothing wrong with African ancestry. The other dna test kits it might be, but not African ancestry. And my dna is largely shaped by my ancestors, not me.
@micahmay5679
@micahmay5679 4 жыл бұрын
Ray Kemet bro bro bro bro bro, your dna is embedded in your genes through centuries and centuries of your ancestors. I feel what you saying, to a certain extent. You might denounce your people who identify with Europeans but if you have European in your blood then that’s your dna as well, whether it was willing or non willing, so its best to study it. And also by you being creole, then you (already) should know that your blood is what makes you the way you are. For instance, you might have one side of you that loves things about your creole people and their culture and food and that would be coming from the inner side of your creole black spirit and then on another side you might have hatred toward your own people for identifying with the whites and that is your inter hatred from your white dna that has been embedded in you to have hatred for your own kind of people just because they think differently than you or they choose to act differently than you or they disagree with you. At the end of the day they are still your brothers and sisters and dna is dna.. So like i said, you have the right to feel how you feel about yourself and the creole people but you not go tell or guide me, on what not to do with me learning my heritage, nor my history, the way (I) choose to go about doing it, in order to gain (my) (own) self knowledge just because you (think) somebody elder should do it differently.. you’re opinion is yours on what you feel you should do and mine is mine.. I’m a leader and not a follower, i do my own research, gain my own knowledge, and will continue to do so, no matter what somebody else try to tell me what i should do. 💪🏾👌🏾👍🏾✊🏾

@micahmay5679
@micahmay5679 4 жыл бұрын
Ray Kemet first, You were meaning the word what i “meant” and not what i “met”... Second, you keep putting the word “like i said” to make your point, as if I’m going to listen to “you” because of what “you” said as if you are somebody. Who Are You??? Are you Allah, Ibrahim, Musa, Yusub, Muhammad (PBUH) I didnt think so, so who are you to try to make me listen to you??? See, i was really just trying to get an understanding of where you were coming from, but from how you presented yourself shows the anger you have towards different cultures and even your own. So let me break it down to you in a more knowledgeable way, SINCE YOU FELT I WAS DUMB and giving you some phoney bologne nonsense. Before i reacted in the way i just did, i (never) acknowledged myself to let you know that i am Muslim, and a Proud Muslim At That!!! So let me give you your truthful and real and 100% guidance that you wanted me to reply and say, since i suppose to be dumb. Let me first start off by giving you the knowledge that has been giving down from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta Ala (swt)... Assalamu Alaikum my brother... There is no hate in Islam. No hate towards race or etc. Prejudice and discrimination are (attitudes) and they result in actions that cause people to be treated differently. Many Muslims (including myself) actively fight against prejudice and discrimination in all its forms, in fact, the very same forms that you just replied to thats months old in the comment section, with your (shaitan-like) discrimination and prejudice. Islam excepts all races and by you being Muslim or Ex-Muslim, then you know that you have given us (Shaitan) from your destructional prejudice comments about another race and your own kind. Now, let me give you even more insight on what my knowledge is Ray. Islam first spread throughout the Middle East absorbing different nationalities, customs, classes and religions. Later, it spread through Asia, India, Africa and the Balkans. Prejudice and discrimination were not common in Muslim societies due to the diversity of their inhabitants. This tradition of tolerance is reflected in the teachings of Islam, and you out of all other people (the nonbelievers) should very well know that. Now as far as you seeming to not tolerate any other race or tolerating any other men/women views, then that’s when (Shaitans) work that you are doing is even more disproving. Matter of fact, tolerance towards non-Muslims within Islamic societies stems from the Prophet Muhammad's teaching that all 'People of the Book' should be treated-with-respect. This meant followers of other monotheistic religions who have a sacred text given to them by God, regardless if they are European or not, and at the time it specifically included mainly Christians and Jews. It says in the Quran 29:46 and i quote, “And do not dispute with the followers of the book...except those of them who act unjustly, and say: We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you, and our God and your God is One, and to Him do we submit.” So you mean to tell me that just because the color of their skin that you have the tight to denounce someone if they are living by the correct code of conduct in Allah’s Creation??? Please don’t tell me yes, smh!!! Also, i know for a fact that the Holy Quran teaches that justice applies to all of humankind and of all faiths. If i am not mistaken, in Quran 5:8 it said, “O you who believed, be persistently standing firm for Allah, witness in justice, and do not let the hatred of people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is (fully) aware of what you do.“ Ray, just in case you still not understanding, let me further my knowledge for you my brother. That means that all people, regardless of their origin, are equal in Islam and the only thing that distinguishes them is their level of commitment to their religion. It is reported by Al-Tirmidhi in one Hadith that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had once said, “O mankind, indeed we have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Aware.” Matter of fact Ray, the Quran even states that people should be fair with each other to help achieve a balanced and harmonious society and that is in 60:8 or either 60:9, but i know for a fact it said Allah does not forbid you from showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you about religion and have not driven you out of your homes. Allah loves just dealers. Bro you are misinforming the believers with hatred towards other races, so you would be considered a nonbeliever who pretends to believe in the words of Allah, but you are a half-stepper. Learn your knowledge and don’t let the wrong knowledge influence you in coming in coerce with Shaitan brother foreal. Guidance is definitely key but guidance from the wrong forces (shaitan) will surely land you on the other side of paradise (insha allah)!!! I remember you mentioned something in the effects of you saying that you don’t have time for “stupid shit or ignorance” that i said to you regarding the dna comment 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ let me guide you further brother because it’s clear your knowledge has came to a halt after shaitan has won you over, and it’s clear that you have not been reading your Quran and was not studying Hadiths i clearly see. Let me school you and take the frustration and angerness out your great heart that the devil (Shaitan) has tried to embed into you my brother, and release it and replace it with some more warm hearted knowledge love and alertness. DNA- DNA, brother brother brother, it’s clear and free knowledge and transcripts at the library that you can read up to understand that clearly DNA can be traced down to ones genes through prior ancestors. I will just give you a little more knowledge before i get prepared for my Salah as Maghrib is coming up. A fresh understanding of Islamic scripture reveals references to principles of genetics that predate contemporary discoveries. Genetics is the study of genes and the principles and mechanisms of heredity, or the means by which traits are passed from parents to off-spring. In the Hadith it is clearly stated that, “There came a person to the Prophet from Banu Fazara and said: My wife has given birth to a child who is black, Allah’s Apostle said: Have you any camels? He said: Yes. He again said: What is this colour? He said: They are red. He said: Is there a dusky one among them? He said: Yes, there are dusky ones among them. He said: How has it come about? He said: It is perhaps the strain (`irq) to which it has reverted, whereupon he (the Prophet) said: It is perhaps the strain (`irq) to which he (the child) has reverted.” Prophet Muhammad probably had an intuitive understanding that some traits inherited from the parents were apparent in ancestral generations but not in the parents. This concept underlies our current understanding of dominant and recessive inheritance. In the following ḥadīth, he recommended that a person should (carefully) select his or her mate. The word `irq could mean traits or genes, while the word dassās in the following hadith after that is probably used to designate the behavior of human traits that skip a generation but reappear in the next. Understood?? Brother Ray, i want to say to you that Shaitan has definitely tried to misguide you but i am going to bring you back insha allah, so cope with me for a lil minute. Racism in any form is considered unacceptable and wrong. True Muslims (the believers) believe that all people share in a common humanity. They believe that racism, whether as prejudice or discrimination, undermines the dignity of people. SO TO ALL OF YOU ALL THAT JUST CONTACTED ME AFTER READING THIS GUYS POST, AND LETTING ME KNOW, THANKS SO MUCH FOR BEING TRUE BELIEVERS AND REACHING OUT TO ME, TO GUIDE THIS BROTHER AND ALL MY SISTERS AND BROTHERS ABOUT THE CORRECT CONCEPT OF ISLAM INSHA ALLAH!!! *** TAKBIR *** ALLAHU AKBAR

But most Hausas disagree with this story, they say that the Hausas were already an indigenous tribe in Nigeria. You need to go and learn of the seven Hausa kingdoms (states), all in Northern Nigeria.
