This mass for peace written by Karl Jenkins and dedicated to the victims of the 1999 war in Kosovo, played wonderfully and masterfully by Hauser, the orchestra and the choir is a light at the end of the tunnel through which the world is heading since many years. I first heard this piece whilst driving home from a pest control call-out at three in the morning. I had to pull over on the motorway to stop and listen to the completion. I’ve never felt such mixed emotions before over one piece of music. I felt elated, sad, joyous and empty in such a short space of time. Since then, it has become my go to music whenever I feel that life is getting on top of me and it brings a serenity and joy to me that helps me forget the shitshow that this planet has become. If only we could get all the leaders of the world and the evil elite that run this catastrophe together in one room and make them listen to this. Maybe, one day, they will and they will listen to the suffering and despair that is happening right now and right here. . . . . We can only wish. . . . . . . but I feel that these people have no hearts. 😢

This is undoubtedly the BEST rendition of Karl Jenkins' Benedictus among all the versions in KZbin. Everyone here, Hauser, the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, and Elisabeth Fuchs, was just amazing. The sound of "canons" reverberated in me that I felt so much emotion. You can hear the choir sing "Benedictu-ss", you can distinctly hear the "ss" trailing at the end. The audience-ss was clearly entranced by the haunting music and this-ss was evidenced by the total silence when it ended . . . then the rousing applause-ss. This is the very BESSST ;-)

Was fortunate enough to meet and greet Mr Hauser last week after a mesmerising performance in London. He literally climbed up the rails to the level we were seated at after I called his name. We spoke for a while and he asked my children if they played any instruments. He was warm, generous with his time, had impeccable manners, charming, stylish and genuine. My son took a few photos of us and b4 I knew it I was heading back home, sat in a congested train I relived every magical moment that occurred at the magnificent concert and then I pinched myself just to make sure it wasn't a dream.......and I was lucky!

The cello is my favorite instrument and Hauser, the cellist playing here, I think is the best cellist in the world. If you look him up on KZbin, he plays so many beautiful songs, and a real variety of genres. He plays everything from rock songs with the cello, that I've never heard played on a cello before, as well as other popular songs and beautiful classical music. He plays with such passion. He played with another cellist, Luka Sulic, for I think 10 years and they were called 2Cellos. They toured with Elton John for 5 years because Elton was so impressed with them. They've been playing individually for the past couple years but talking about getting back together again. Hauser really is an amazing cellist. I hope you can find some of his other songs to listen to. He has a huge following, millions of people and he has a great fan group called HausErholics. You might want to check it out. I don't think you'll be sorry. Just some thoughts. 🎼🎶🎵🎻

I love how Hauser plays this particular song. Such reverence and respect. It's as each note he plays is an unspoken prayer. A prayer from the heart. I have lost count of the number of times I have listened to this recording. It has become very addictive It was my first awareness of Karl Jenkins' music and I've since listened to the whole of "The armed Man' of which this is part. Every member of the orchestra and the choir deserve the utmost praise for their performance. For not only do they play and sing the music, they become part of it. This is the first time I've seen Elizabeth Fuchs conducting. Indeed, such is my ignorance I was unaware of her existence but I will now be seeking out other events at which she is conducting. For not only does she conduct but she, as with the musicians and orchestra is at one with the music. Stjepen Hauser is the ultimate professional. Not only does he play superbly, with so much feeling but one senses many emotions just below the surface.
