Hi haute42, I'm new to all of this and I'd like to order the T16 to go to my first tournament. Thing is, there's that rule that says "Joysticks, pads, arcade sticks with a timeout are forbidden". I got myself the M16 really recently, in an attempt to save my keyboard from damage with the constant hitting of the keys, and I love it. It's just large enough to be comfortable without being massive and arcade stick size. It has a similar profile to the Razer Kitsune but for 1/3rd of the price. I'm so glad these lever-less controllers are having more people make them and becoming more affordable, I could never justify getting a Hitbox to myself! xD

I got the T16, and I came here to say something I haven't seen anybody talk about because it's not a "problem" content creators have! For the people who are new to the fighting game scene and started on a keyboard (because you didn't want to buy expensive equipement) the switch from leverless to the (WASD+Spacebar) mapping is SOOOOOOO much more ergonomic. That little curve the buttons are on perfectly match your hand shape and make special inputs so much more consistent. I 100% recommend (: PS: Sajam, I would also recommend making a keyboard "review" :D I believe you would learn a lot about what people who start on keyboard struggle with. And because you have so many buttons, I think you'll find use for macros (on your thumbs for example) for inputs you didn't know would be advantageous to have.
@Vespyr_7 ай бұрын
For those with the T-Series and S-Series controllers, I HIGHLY recommend the LoFree Tactile Phantom switches. They wobble less, and have a nice subtle but thicc activation at the top of the press so that you can FEEL when the switch is activated BEFORE bottoming out the button. You don't need to slam dashes down to know they've been activated, making dash attacks and sidesteps more consistent. It gives it a deeper, chonkier sound too.

Got a B16 and an M16 a little while ago. Honestly they both feel so nice. Highly recommend any haute board if they're as good as these. The only thing i hate about them is that the button (pin) configuration is totally not intuitive. They have a web configurer that's honestly not bad. But they just aren't consistent with how they name the pins (buttons) across the configurer or the guide sheet you get in the box. So u have to kinda poke around to figure out which pin is which button. It's not a huge issue after u get it set up the first time but it's something that i feel like could be improved very easily.

I'm always really interested in seeing all different types of leverless controllers out there, so I appreciate videos like this. I honestly like the fact that haute42 has keyboard-like options. That was how I started on fighting games. Unfortunately I play left handed, so I had to build my own custom controller (using keyboard keys for all buttons with a brook UFB) for it all to feel natural and to basically stop using my keyboard. I even used my custom controller at EVO. I meant to buy another brook UFB while I was there, but unfortunately forgot to. A friend has a haute42 controller, and it feels nice. But I play lefty, so I couldn't get a complete feel for it. I kind of wish haute42 had some lefty options, because I would love to have one and to try it all out.
@nSquared75Ай бұрын
As another who’s also left-handed, I could never imagine playing left handed with a button based controller. I suppose it’s due to decades of right handed use. I can play joystick related controls left-handed, however,

I have the T16 and it is a very solid choice, and the T13 should be the same if you don't need the extra buttons. Doesn't hurt to have them though, unless you really want the regular look for art or something. There's two minor issues I came across. The buttons are slightly too large (30mm), but it's fairly easy to get used to them after a bit of time. If you have large hands, this won't be an issue. Also, compared to Sanwa buttons, it's not really possible to "slide" across the Haute42 ones like if you were trying to do right > down > left with just your index finger. The way the buttons are, your finger will catch the edges. I personally don't need this technique, but some people might. In comparison, my other leverless, the FightBox F1 has buttons that I think are actually too small. So unfortunately for me, I may need to look at other options in the future or just keep using them to adapt. But the button activation on the Haute42's switches is way more distinct and cleaner. You'll have way less problems with inputs in that regard.

I got the g16 mini for sf6 and Tekken 8 and I loved it and I definitely want to get the bigger one soon, so glad I got it feels amazing and won’t break your bank like some of the other popular leverless controllers out there definitely would Recommend to anyone looking for a leverless.

so many of these have a ton of buttons on them it does make me a little worried about tournament legality since a lot of big events iirc have rules against controllers with multiple ways to input the same input.

Love my G16. Would love of they made one with the G series style MX buttons, but the size of the T series.
