Hi haute42, I'm new to all of this and I'd like to order the T16 to go to my first tournament. Thing is, there's that rule that says "Joysticks, pads, arcade sticks with a timeout are forbidden". Idk what's timeout and I'd like to know if this controller has timeout (don't want to blow 90+ bucks for a controller I can't use).

Proud of what you guys have done for affordability in the space. And the quality is great. I still need to get my hands on one. Any chance you’d consider a 15 button option? Basically one without the extra jump on the left side 👀 would be perfect for me 🤘🏾

I got myself the M16 really recently, in an attempt to save my keyboard from damage with the constant hitting of the keys, and I love it. It's just large enough to be comfortable without being massive and arcade stick size. It has a similar profile to the Razer Kitsune but for 1/3rd of the price. I'm so glad these lever-less controllers are having more people make them and becoming more affordable, I could never justify getting a Hitbox to myself! xD

I got the T16, and I came here to say something I haven't seen anybody talk about because it's not a "problem" content creators have! For the people who are new to the fighting game scene and started on a keyboard (because you didn't want to buy expensive equipement) the switch from leverless to the (WASD+Spacebar) mapping is SOOOOOOO much more ergonomic. That little curve the buttons are on perfectly match your hand shape and make special inputs so much more consistent. I 100% recommend (: PS: Sajam, I would also recommend making a keyboard "review" :D I believe you would learn a lot about what people who start on keyboard struggle with. And because you have so many buttons, I think you'll find use for macros (on your thumbs for example) for inputs you didn't know would be advantageous to have.

I'm always really interested in seeing all different types of leverless controllers out there, so I appreciate videos like this. I honestly like the fact that haute42 has keyboard-like options. That was how I started on fighting games. Unfortunately I play left handed, so I had to build my own custom controller (using keyboard keys for all buttons with a brook UFB) for it all to feel natural and to basically stop using my keyboard. I even used my custom controller at EVO. I meant to buy another brook UFB while I was there, but unfortunately forgot to. A friend has a haute42 controller, and it feels nice. But I play lefty, so I couldn't get a complete feel for it. I kind of wish haute42 had some lefty options, because I would love to have one and to try it all out.
@nSquared75
@nSquared75 4 ай бұрын
As another who’s also left-handed, I could never imagine playing left handed with a button based controller. I suppose it’s due to decades of right handed use. I can play joystick related controls left-handed, however,

For those with the T-Series and S-Series controllers, I HIGHLY recommend the LoFree Tactile Phantom switches. They wobble less, and have a nice subtle but thicc activation at the top of the press so that you can FEEL when the switch is activated BEFORE bottoming out the button. You don't need to slam dashes down to know they've been activated, making dash attacks and sidesteps more consistent. It gives it a deeper, chonkier sound too.

Got a B16 and an M16 a little while ago. Honestly they both feel so nice. Highly recommend any haute board if they're as good as these. The only thing i hate about them is that the button (pin) configuration is totally not intuitive. They have a web configurer that's honestly not bad. But they just aren't consistent with how they name the pins (buttons) across the configurer or the guide sheet you get in the box. So u have to kinda poke around to figure out which pin is which button. It's not a huge issue after u get it set up the first time but it's something that i feel like could be improved very easily.

I looked around a bit and Ultra Arcade sells leverless controllers and they ship from EU, when choosing a product you can choose which board it comes with it, but PS5 compitable boards still cost more. You can get a leverless for a PS5 for a bit less than 200€, still not cheap, but cheaper than Hitbox or Razer Kitsune for sure!

I use the second one you showed off, the 16 button mini, and it's pretty awesome. If anything the keys are TOO sensitive, they require very little force to press but otherwise it's super customizable and if you like the keyboard-style buttons (instead of the circle ones) and you want 16 keys, highly recommend. I use it for Tekken 8 and it's great to have those extra buttons for dual input binds like 1+2 or 3+4 etc

I don't know if it's the area I live in, but it makes no sense in my mind how hitboxes are so expensive. Like, the cheapest ones are 4x the price of a mechanical keyboard and they are basically the same thing but with way less buttons.

Yeah being the only manufacturer in a certain niche allow you to charge customers whatever you want. This also used to be the case for steering wheel with Fanatec. Now we have Moza which is similar to Haute42 in that they break through the lower price market with good quality. And that's all you need to break the market. I'm not even interested in leverless pad but now I am because the cost entry is so low now. (I primary use D pad controller)

I have the T16 and it is a very solid choice, and the T13 should be the same if you don't need the extra buttons. Doesn't hurt to have them though, unless you really want the regular look for art or something. There's two minor issues I came across. The buttons are slightly too large (30mm), but it's fairly easy to get used to them after a bit of time. If you have large hands, this won't be an issue. Also, compared to Sanwa buttons, it's not really possible to "slide" across the Haute42 ones like if you were trying to do right > down > left with just your index finger. The way the buttons are, your finger will catch the edges. I personally don't need this technique, but some people might. In comparison, my other leverless, the FightBox F1 has buttons that I think are actually too small. So unfortunately for me, I may need to look at other options in the future or just keep using them to adapt. But the button activation on the Haute42's switches is way more distinct and cleaner. You'll have way less problems with inputs in that regard.

Less repairability. No huge variety of switches unlike controllers with regular MX switches. Proprietary keycaps because they have unique diameter. You can buy Punk Workshop caps for Haute, and they come in different colours. I believe Kitsune has less software options either. GP2040-CE controllers beat anything in terms of what they could do: SOCD is the good example, you can choose between four SOCD modes

I LOVE the T16 and I only have 1 gripe. For my hands, the spacing between the left and down directional buttons is just barely beyond what is comfortable for my hands, and so I find myself using my left pinky instead of my ring finger which lind of makes things feel weird. I am about to purchase the S13 which appears to have less space between the directional buttons. My son loves the T16 tho so its not going to waste 😂

I've small hands so the S series suits me even better than other leverless brands. Been pretty happy with it

Bought my T16 two months ago and it instantly became my favorite controller. I have a FightBox but something about Sanwas on a leverless feels wrong to me (probably because I got into fighting games on Keyboard)

Got the Metal M16 a while back. It has different options for switches if you dont want the thonk. I got the silver-ish metal and I don't notice the smudges so guess I dodged a bullet with the full black. Edit: M not T

Its called the M16 my dude. God I WISH they made a M16 the size of the T16. Which would just be a Razer Kitsune at that point lol. No idea why they havent done that yet. Id buy that day one.

I fully expect prices to increase now. They have already been rising over the past two months the T used to be $70 now it’s like $100

can you map the button above your middle finger on your left hand to be jump to switch the hitbox layout into a mixbox layout on the s13/s16?

I play on pad and have always considered a stick and now with everything shifting towards leverless I’ve been considering that too, those small cheap ones might be something to look into 🤔

How is it still? I've heard that it really attracts fingerprints, is it really that bad?
@Psikick4

@@auqifx fingerprints don't bother me one bit. They literally wipe off with your shirt. It's not like they're permanent and nobody is staring at the their buttons while playing. This complaint has always been a weird one to me. You don't see fingerprints all over mine.

I really want a cross-up style controller but where d pad and joystick are both leverless, but haven't found anyone reputable. Hopefully haute can make a controller like that!
