Chanel is one of the most well-known luxury & fashion brands in the world, and I want to know when they're gonna get back to making luxurious & fashionable collections? Virignie Viard's Pre-Fall 2021 collection, commonly called Chanel's Metier D'Art collection, was held at the Chateau de Chenonceau otherwise called the "The Ladies' Chateau". Diane de Poitiers & Catherine de Medici were two famous inhabitants and both of these women had a lot of style tropes that coincided with Coco Chanel. So you would think the collection would be an easy home run, well you'd be wrong. The sloppy styling, tacky leggings, elementary use of 38 different metiers, and lack of playfulness culminated in this disastrous mess. I actually want to like Virginie's Chanel, but she keeps making it harder and harder.

My biggest issue with the tights/leggings/bodysuits was that if they were at least in complimentary colors and fabrics, I could have possibly overlooked them. If they were done well, they could've been a statement about the juxtaposition of modesty in an increasingly sexualized world. Be what we got: they just looked like she bought a bunch of deep discount zentai suits, cut them up, and threw them on the models with no care about even complimenting colors. (OMG they make me irrationally angry)

I have to say my biggest sticking point with the leggings is that by cutting off the design at the ankle and then putting a strap heel or just a heel on, it makes me feel like I'm looking at a completely separate part of the outfit. It loses its sense of continuity and doesn't draw my eye all the way through the outfit. This is disappointing cause it just reminds me of every single girl from middle school in 2012 when leggings and open shoes were THE THING. And I have no desire to be reminded of early 2010's middle school fashion in a Channel Show.

Death, it's one of the biggest events that will ever take place in your life. We face death everyday, conscious or unconsciously of it; death lurks around every corner of our life. Like a lion waiting to catch its prey, death comes for us all in many shapes and form; seemingly there is no one who can escape from the jaws of death. But did you know there is a reason why we die? The idea of death you're familiar with is only the tip of the iceberg. See we die because we've sinned against God. Death according to the bible is wages " for the wages of sin is death " (Romans 6:23). Because man sinned against God, we live in a fallen world, it was once perfect, but now in ruins. Now that sin exists, God is coming to judge the world In righteousness. It's appointed a man once to die and after this judgement" (Hebrews 9:27) The standard he'll judge you by is the 10 commandments, God's moral law. He's so serious about sin that he gave anyone who sins the death sentence, the bible says you've earned it through sinning against God and each time you sin you build up his wrath. “The soul who sins shall die.” (Ezekiel 18:4) The punishment is the eternal fires of Hell " Where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 13:42) You will have to face God on Judgement Day. Will you go to Heaven or Hell? Here’s a quick test: 1-You shall have no other gods before me. 2-You shall not make any idols. 3-You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. 4-Remember the Sabbath Day. 5-Honor your father and mother. 6-You shall not murder. 7-You shall not commit adultery. 8-You shall not steal. 9-You shall not lie. 10-You shall not covet. Have you ever told a lie? stolen anything? used God’s name in vain? have you ever looked at anyone with lust? He sees lust as adultery, “Whoever looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”(Matthew 5:28) Have you ever hated someone? he sees hatred as murder, ”Anyone who hates another brother or sister is a murderer, (1 John 3:15) James 2:10 says, “the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of God’s laws.” Don't rely on your own goodness or good works to save you. That's like bribing God to let you into heaven; Nor a church, pastor, priest, or any religion. None of us are good at all, even murderers, rapists, even Hilter will call themselves Good and they'll try to justify themselves by their Good works. But the bible says: • "But we are all like an unclean thing, and all of our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; we fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like wind have taken us away." (Isaiah 64:6) God's definition of good is morally excellent and therefore he demands absolute pperfections. No one can ever match his standards. That's why Jesus said: • " No one is good except God alone." (Luke 18:19) If you have done any of those things, God sees you as guilty of breaking His law and the Bible warns that the guilty will end up in Hell. Will YOU be guilty on Judgement Day? "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23) God sent His Son to suffer and die on the cross. Jesus took the punishment upon Himself and defeated death on the cross; not because your Good but because God is rich in mercy. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) Jesus rose from the dead and defeated death. Repent (turn from sin) today and trust in Jesus and God will grant you everlasting life; you'll also be born again. He'll give you a new heart that desires righteousness, what is just and a heart that will love God. that is why Jesus said "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3) Then, Read the Bible and obey what you read. ☆ When Are You Going To Get Right With God? “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion“ (Hebrews 3:15) “Now is the accepted time, behold now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2) • " Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) It's your choice. I'll leave you with this "What shall profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? " (Mark 8:36) If you're taking this seriously, Would you like a prayer? This prayer is not a guarantee that you'll be saved, that's between you and God. However, I'd like this to be a good start for your journey. "Father, I thank you for this person's open heart and ask that he/she would repent and trust alone in Jesus christ. I also ask that you guide their steps on their journey so that they would pass from death to life. In Jesus name amen. When you get alone before God and repent (turn from your sins) of your sins. Use Psalm 51 as a model to help you. When you find time please read this: www.livingwaters.com/save-yourself-some-pain/

@Carne Guisada God gave you a conscience to know right from wrong so therefore he will judge your thought life, your every motives and even your words. "But I tell you that for every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgement. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned." (Matthew 12:36-37) If you were to die in your sins and God gave you justice for breaking his law. You have his promise that he'll send you to Hell; God's prison without parole. "all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone," (Revelation 21:8) No thieves, blasphemers( Taking God's in vain is called blasphemy, punishable by death in the old testament and God holds no one guiltless who takes his name in vain), Adulterers, murderers will enter the kingdom of Heaven. You either believe or reject the free gift of God that is in Jesus Christ. If you reject Jesus then your damned for hell. "You will perish unless you repent of yours sins and turn to God." (Luke 13:3) I am the way, the truth, and the life. no one comes to the father except through me (John 14:6) I encourage you to strongly think about what you've read because I love you and care about you. You could die in your sleep and end up in hell Neither me nor God wants that for you. Listen to the fear you may have after reading this, you may think the fear you have is bad but it's actually your friend and , because it's trying to persevere you from ending up in Hell. “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:31 "And by the fear of the LORD one departs from evil." Honestly I didn’t mind this Chanel collection, I think it had really nice pieces but maybe the styling of clothes didn’t help to highlight it. Also the jumpsuits/tights under the clothes are distracting.

Yes, I don’t understand people who feel so strongly about it, it was beautiful. Those last few years Chanel has been so lazy « oh here, take some tweed jackets pearl necklaces and black dresses that look like Chanel’ boarding school uniform » At least this one is surprising and inspiring

I wanna grab my scissor and just go ✂️✂️✂️ on all those maxi skirts. So many of those outfits could have been saved by a shorter skirt, while the “diaper”-rompers would have looked better with longer pants.

do french people realize there is such a thing as “connotation” in language...and that “chateau” has a different connotation from the plainer, more generic word “castle?”
@rodgomola
@rodgomola 3 жыл бұрын
'Chateau' it's an aristocratic house in the country side. The equivalent in English is 'Country House' or 'Manor'. 'Chateaufort' is the equivalent to 'Castle' in English. This gets more complicated one considers that some Country Houses have the word 'Castle' in their name.
@Mimedus

@@2015kevinf no offense intended... it was just a joke referring to the tendency to place french words just because it sounds more elegant or elevated than in the original language. But thank you for the clarification 🥲
@JaesadaSrisuk
@JaesadaSrisuk 3 жыл бұрын
In English, the word “castle” conjures up a specific image that generally involves a fortified building of various architectural styles such as gothic or Romanesque that may or may not involve features such as battlements. Chateaux may or may not be castles. A Second Empire hunting mansion would not be called a “castle”.

The problem for me is that I don´t know who this Chanel woman is. Like ok, she has money but is she young (like in her 20s or 30s) or older? Plus also I miss the joy and emotions, from the models and the clothes as well.

Maybe they didn’t. Not have money but maybe they had trouble with heating. It’s an Old ass place, and it could’ve been having remodeling done and then it just wasn’t done in time for the show itself to be recorded so they had to do some modifications on the outfits ( I.e. the ill fitting jumpsuits”)

To start, love hearing you roast fashion. Thank you for making this video. But, I think she achieved what she was hoping to do, Twitter and TikTok were lighting up about Kristen in a castle watching this fashion show... I think if anything the whole thing screams Gay Girl. (Lesbians love sweater vests right now 😉) I enjoyed a lot of it, hated the leggings and the cut of the rompers but yeah, a number of pieces were interesting and fun.... and I think this collection will make money, even in this financially insecure time in history. And Chanel as a brand is not intrinsically modern, in fact it’s appeal is it’s familiarity and rigid power b*tch vibe.

I think this boring less colorful collection verses the 90's is because the 90's could explore with different cultures and how cultures used garments and not called out for it, or being cancelled to it, most of this is because there scared of trying something new such as many company's nowadays because fashion is important in this year to teens and people in there 20's, so not trying something new is safe to the company's in there mind and any fashion designer can get fired if the collection utterly fails , btw I think they should use the CC logo and I think chanel hasn't done much to explore street wear sense it appeals to a younger audience and they only have had sneakers release.
