Awesomely awesome 😏👍👍👍 I knew I needed to rule out *2* from *r5c8* because it was a powerful digit, forcing a lot of "dominoes" to fall. And I was right but I had to study that catastrophic chain reaction with patience for a long time before understanding its destructive effect on *r5c3.* Mark's method was radically different, because @31:07 he elegantly ruled *1* out of *r5c3...* while I did something else...

@30:05, Mark tested the following hypothesis: _"if _*_r5c8_*_ is a 2, ..."_ and could not see its catastrophic effect on *r5c3.* Before testing the same hypothesis, I had already deduced that: *r6c3 = r7c4 = 6* (5 in those cells would force 1 twice in c3) and hence *r6c5 = r5c7* (same flavour of the 1-2 pair) Moreover, I had coloured the *7-8* pairs (which allowed me to place one of them into r9c4). Hence it was not too difficult for me to see that, if *r5c8 = 2,* then *r2c3 = 1* and *r6c2 = 3* ruling out every possible candidate from *r5c3.*

From 36:24, r9c5 was a naked single. It took me around 15 minutes to find it during my solve. Knowing how good Mark is at finding naked singles, I half expected him to spot it within a few seconds. Quite surprised it took him five minutes.

Great solve, thank you! There was another neat trick around R3C3 value - it couldn't be 2 since it would create 2 8s in box 1. If 23 coloring was complete in box 2, it might have been easier to see. Starting from about 40th minute of the solve, it was an option.

With a 45 minutes video I normally don't have a chance to solve the sudoku on my own. But I thought I would give it a try anyway before watching the video. To my surprice it felt doable all along and I finished in just over 14 minutes. I don't know what happened! I guess I had a lot of luck and just found a good path through.

33:00 I got the yellow digit by first asking where the third high digit (789) can go in Column 4. It can't go on the region sum line in Box 2 (too large for sum), can't go in Box 5 (sees all 3 high digits), so the only spot left for it is in Row 9. Then I asked where 6 could go in Column 4. Again, it can't go on the region sum line (too large for sum), can't go into Box 5 (sees a 6), so it must go in Row 7.

I finished in 67:05 minutes. The combination of these 6 Whispers and the orientation of the lines made for some very fun geometric logic. It took me a long time, but I finally made my breakthrough by way of column 4 and the limitation of some digits. That really excelled my progress. I think my favorite part was after that near the end after I had gotten a 1 in r5c7 and coloring the 78's. I looked at r3c3 and asked if it could be a 2. The answer was simple, but fun to track. It can't be because it bounces through box 4 to box 5 to box 2 and causes r2c5 to be a 3. This forces the cell in r2c3 to be an 8 and r2c2 to be a 7. However, this breaks as I now have a 2 in r3c3 sitting next to a 7, breaking the whisper. That was a fun finish to a festive treat. Great Puzzle!

62:20 for me. Came to a hold at some point about the 2/3 issue in box 4. In the end the colouring helped to find the 2 in box 7 and I could solve it without guessing a digit the second time I rewinded my steps. Surprisingly Mark didn't help me much, as he solved the digits in quite a different order than I did in the middle part. I'm still not in the main game about interconnectivity of digits from different rows and such, so solving this at all is a huge win for me.

The result of the aborted thoughts about 2s in r3c3 and r5c7 (at 16:00) is that at least ONE of them has to be a 1 - therefore r5c3 cannot be 1.

Mark's hunch at 29:51 that there should be a way to show that the yellow cells (r6c3 and r7c4) are 6s was correct. He got there later, but I made that deduction from a similar stage as follows: * The line in box 2 can't take any digits larger than 5. * So, looking at column 6 in box 5: the 78 pair and the 6 must find homes in either r1c5 or r2c5. * Now going down to box 8: the 78 pair is placed in r9c4 and the 6 in r7c4.

That's how I progressed too. Then you have R5C4+R6C5=6 and R4C7+R5C8=6, so R6C5 and R4C7 have to be different, which means R6C5=R5C7=1 as per box 4.

Scatterbrained solve for me on this one, kept missing obvious basic sudoku deductions. Did manage to finish in 31:51 (conflict checker off), but felt I could have reduced that considerably had I been paying more attention! Regardless, many thanks to James for a very cool puzzle!
