I'm still running my A7iii and will be for many more years as I have an underwater housing for it which costs more than the camera its self. I would say what I would want going from the a7iii to something newer would be the improved auto focus, slightly higher mp to allow for a bit of a crop in post. and Pre capture. The A7iv has all but the pre capture. But overall I think you are correct. All cameras have become really good.

The Sony A7IV is a very good allrounder. I hope A7V will have a better AF (AI Chip), can improve half, or one stop the noise at HighISO and get the new screen mechanism.

Is clear for me. At least semi stuck sensor just to avoid rolling shutter, higher shutter speed like 20 per second raw files and pre capture. If these things don't change it will not worth the upgrade probably. By the way I currently have the sony a9 (the first one). And hopefully a good price to will be nice🙂. After nicon z6 3 i believe that has to improve

There will be a heavy focus on the video side, not stills. 6k/30p open gate plus uncropped 4K/60p is a must. All of it over sampled instead of pixel binned. I would imagine it will have a semi stacked sensor similar to the Z6iii. And the new A9/A1 body/screen alone makes it worth the upgrade. I’m praying they give us a much improved EVF and lcd. Maybe 32-bit float audio and wireless receiver built-in? Price will be around $3k I think.

For the advancement of technology and all that encompasses we do need for cameras to continually be tweaked with new technology. But in terms of the individual photographer I don't think it's necessary to move to the newest system with every minor tweak. I have the A1 and I would love pre-capture for wildlife but I'm still achieving fantastic photos and action photos with my current set up. It's fun question to ponder.

What we will likely get is just the new body design from the a9iii/a1ii and improved AI autofocus tracking. Also, maybe the a7v will have 2 hybrid SD/cfexpress A slots, instead of 1 hybrid and 1 just SD. Overall, I'm expecting a very incremental, somewhat boring update that is not really targeted at current a7iv owners.

For video, absolutely. The ai chip with better af and dynamic stabe will make a huge difference alone

The iii really was revolutionary. Honestly the AF still beats some of todays newest cameras. Like with phones im skipping the galaxy S25 this year. Im on the fence about the A7V, but if it does have the new AI processing then thats tempting. Its very good on the 6700 and RV

And I agree camera technology as a whole has plateaued if not outright stagnated. Just about any camera produced within the past decade can produce excellent images. It really all just comes down to personal preference.

The market will dictate the demand. Personally, I would LOVE for a few upgrades to be included in the upcoming A75 - A few more megapixels to compete with Nikon Z8; pre capture capabilities; better rolling shutter; triple based ISO; 4k60 with no crop; HD 240fps. And i'm not saying anyone needs these upgrades, because we could've said the same thing about the A7S3 before the A74 dropped. I am just answering your question of what I wouldn't mind having. No one is forcing us to buy this stuff. And no, we don't "need" it. But i sure do "want" it.

a7iv and a7v differences : AI and f. ex 15 fps. That alone would be a HUGE upgrade. And thats just TWO things. So yes we do need the a7v. - cant wait for next video where you review the a7V and say that ur switching ur a7iv for the new a7v.

They have just about peaked. There will be incremental improvements with better sensors and processors It’s much like smartphones. People used to keep them 1-2 years then trade them i. Now it’s 3-5 years.

I've worked with A7IV, RV and A1 as you can seem I'm holding them on my profile picture, and yet... I just work everything with a compact a6700 I dont actually need more than that.. yes there a couple of amazing features on some of those high end cameras but do you really need it? U can do anything even with an APSC

I don't think they've peaked. There are still refinements to be had. With respect to the mainline 7 series especially. It's the UX side of the equation and the nice to haves.

Flippy screen, 4K60, 15+ fps, AI chip and improved stabilization is what I'm expecting. Hoping for price competitiveness with the Z6III and R6II or III. and perhaps user LUTS. Don't want the upgrade from 33mp to 44mp but it may be coming and don't want a price increase. What I'm looking for is already in the a7RV but I don't want 61mp.

I think there is a problem with your subtitles, because they don't sync. Sometimes KZbin does this, so it's not your fault, but it helps your viewers from other parts of the world like me.

Canon knows their sensors are actualy good but not as sony'ones. I think they are compensating by focusing on Af even on middle range gears. Sony can't increase too much the the fps of the a7 series because of the fact they sell the a9 series... So regarding Af, just Ai for the a7 v and 20 fps max IMHO. Regarding image quality, they can work on noise reduction if they continu to increase the resolution, i prefer by far the 24 mp of the a7 iii and the 33 of the little bro. Dynamic range is already stealar. Honestly i think it will be a generation where a lot could say : No, im keeping my 7 3 or 7 4... Will see and marketing is so strong you never know.

Soon the A7RV will be replaced with the A7RVI which could be around 100 megapixels. Canon is already talking about a 400 megapixel chip. Where will it end? How much is enough? How much is too much. I'm perfectly happy with my 61 megapixel cameras. Ok, maybe not perfectly, but happy enough. And since I shoot landscapes, I'll probably trade up to 100 megapixel cameras eventually. But, I won't be in any hurry to have the latest and greatest.

I would gladly buy an A7R6 with 100 megapixels! Landscape photography is awesome. But imagine that safari photographer far off in the distance with a 200-600 lens, but still needs that cropping power after snapping a pride of lions feasting after a kill. That 100 megapixels wouldn't be so trivial then! Different strokes for different folks. Not everybody shoots the same. So, let these camera companies cook!

Better backscreen. Come Sony makes great tvs. Why so f.. up. screen Better viewfinder Grip shape like a9 iii or a9rIV or A1 ii. Just better. Grip. This is not so bad. But i think cannon feels better. Better AF. Canon leading About stacked sensor we can dream on but why not xd Better processor for buffering and of course more Fps... 10 fps its crap xd
