Details, please…for stills, do you need to be in jpeg and have face recognition turned off? Anything else?

I have the 28-70 contemporary, in my experience the topic of 24 or 28 does not matter much, but my pals in event videography say it matters in specific situations. Personally, I cannot justify the price difference for 4mm of extra focal width but do note, if you're used to 28-70 sont kit lens, you will find the contemporary one easier to get used to and a solid upgrade over the kit.

Hi Stefan. Nice review. I feel you are technical. Not every one is... I do have a technical question as I am looking in to macro photography. Can you relate to 50mm 2.8 Macro? I wonder 90mm vs 50mm and if 50mm will have any significant image distortion when close to subject due to spherical characteristics of wide angle lens. I consider 50mm an wide angle and have seen distortion in portraits when too close to subject. Forgive silly question I am really a newbie when it come to Macro. Thinking to purchase that 50mm 2.8 macro but never shot those macro shoots. I don't even want to use it for a head of a fly shoots. More for beauty shots in portraiture. So worrying if this distortion present on standard portraits with 50mm will show when I will photograph face and entire frame will be filled with say 1/4 of the face. I know this is not and easy one and I got use to that not many ppl can understand and answer to problems I have, but as I said at the begin I am impressed with your review and feel you might have same attention to details and will to understand problem in greater depth.

TL;DR : If you wanna super telephoto, dont bother with Sony and buy Micro43 + lens for a cheaper price than FF lens only.

I dont agree. Some of the neewer Tamron lenses are great. Especially the 28-75 F2.8 G2 and 70-180 f2.8 G2. The 35-150 is not a G2 and has no VC (optical steady shot) further more Its verry big and heavy. So i stick with my 2 lens solution. Also the 24-105 F4 OSS G is great, cheaper, lighter and more compact than the tamron 35-150.

I just deleted a folder and I haven’t used the SD card after deleting and I tried the software without the deep scan option it said no file found but I’m trying the deep scan option now I hope it finds it 😢

I'm a Stage Photographer, where the required focal length range is around a light wide angle (capturing poses of multiple Artists) and medium Tele (Portraits and Scene shots) - paired with low light issues. 24-70/2,8 lacks enough reach for close-up shots and 70-200 gave me a miss at several Band poses - F4 in any case is not enough shooting in Club situations and extraction of Background stuff and foreground microphone stands. Working with 2 Camera systems is a mess (and even to slow for capturing epic poses) - and I looked a long time for a all-in-one solution. And so I found the 35-150 which the ideal lens for this area of application, featuring the right focal lengths and appropriate aperture range in one package. One should not forget the weight of this Glass, which is substantial in working hours - but as most professionals are capable of suffering from heavy equipment, this should be not a issue.

I just bought the lens as an upgrade from my Sony 55-210mm. Have plans for football photography and nature photos.
