How beautiful, aroused from sleep Jesus immediately calms the storm. I thank him for getting you and your brother through yours🤗! I love hebrews 11:13 "These all died in faith not having received the promises but having seen them afar off." Oh Father God in Heaven I pray for anyone right now who cannot yet see the promise being fulfilled in their lives. Give them faith to believe in Your perfect way and perfect timing and a vision to see what that might look like through Your eyes, I ask through Jesus, Amen. May the name of Jesus be praised forever, Amen.

Abraham has concrete evidence for why he should have faith. I don’t, yet I’m still expected to have that same kind of faith.

Paragraph 153 of the Catechism says: "When St. Peter confessed that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, Jesus declared to him that this revelation did not come "from flesh and blood", but from "my Father who is in heaven". Faith is a gift of God, a supernatural virtue infused by him." If you want faith, PRAY for it. 🙏🙏🙏

Hang in there, fellow pilgrim! And also…check reality. Abraham’s readiness to sacrifice Isaac was the result of decades of wavering between faith and uncertainty and confusion. Have you forgotten his turning over of Sara to a foreign leader’s harem? Or being persuaded to take another woman as wife? And the relinquishing of that son-and the pain and troubles of that decision, which continues to this day? The faith walk can be incredibly boring, tedious, just plain unglamorously difficult. The return to hope can be as simple as deciding to sit and enjoy a warm day, a blue sky and a ray of sunshine when they arrive. As we age, praise and gratitude are not necessarily easy or automatic. They remain vital, so I encourage remembering and striving for them. I also prescribe Eucharistic Adoration. Just go and be in Christ’s presence. Be honest with your anger, resentments and pains at His (seeming) absence, distance or withholding of what you’re looking for. Just go. And go again. I assure you, He’ll take care of the rest. Be blessed, fellow pilgrim, and may the Grace of Hope and Peace become your treasures. Fiat. Amen.
