Have I been missing a trick with these bargain locos? Liberty Junction Ep62

Thought I’d talk about this EFE rail loco that I got in the Liberty Junction Fostering service. For the money it’s really good I think, and with a bit of detailing work can be superb!
As I always say thanks a million to all my subscribers, and thanks to everyone that watches my videos, if you haven’t subscribed please consider doing so, I like my subscribers quite a bit more than my none subscribers I almost love them, not quite love but better than friends😆
Thanks to the commenters and folk that share these on, they’re intended as light hearted entertainment, some are absolute crackers some a bit more serious. I love the model railways, I love filming them going about their business and I love chatting about them. No one in my house is interested in listening to me chat about them, hence I chat to you guys. Feel free to ask any questions.
The intention of this channel is to come at a different angle from the usual and do my own thing which may or may not be everyone’s cup of tea.
It gets me some peace up here in the loft though so I’ll keep it going. I only have a small fleet as they’re all the new sound fitted models and it’s a new hobby so don’t expect a different loco in each video. Hope you like this one, cheers! Dave

Class 37s rule ! You cant have too many of these wonderful locos .As regards the class 60 ,I have nailed my colours to the mast and preordered 60 001 from Accurascale . I already have a model of Test Coach 6 of which it was coupled up to whilst on test on the Highland main line .Luv your Northern humour as always.

Sounds like a plan, I was looking at the 60s today in the TMC cabinet unfortunately they were adjacent to an Accurascale colas 37 which was TMC weathered and far better. I bought neither but was a cool story wasn’t it - true too 👍

Class 58! Get in! Yes got it Dave. I should have, seeing as I was in the New Build Shop at Doncaster plant works when these were built. Worked on them all in my youth! Nice one Dave, get it weathered up 😊

I got one of those weathered efe 58s for my EWS era Scottish layout despite them not working up here much. Couldn't resist. Great model for the money. Looking forward to the Big show later this month in Glasgow.

Hi Dave, EFE was created to produce previously released models from the likes of Heljan to the market. The class 58 has been around for quite a few years but is a smooth runner with lights. Recently you could pick these up just over 100 quid! I know I got a couple!

I was going to say Class 58 but I was making a chicken mushroom pie and timer went off and you said too late but it’s all good, great pie. I wouldn’t mind a Cavalex cl60, I remember one being hauled out of Procor on a low loader in the late 80’s, and there’s a EWS liveried one just down the road stuck in a yard. No other reason really, just those two, and I feel a need to splash some cash.

Really enjoyed that Dave. Just like pepwaverley2185 I enjoy the detritus around the layout. You have a great eye for detail. I had to laugh at your contortionist comments. Wait until you are in your 70s and fiddling with Arduino wiring upside down under your layout! Your time will come...

I knew it was a 58! Honest. Ugly as fook, but they’re one of my favourites. Just done my first renumbering job on the EFE coal sector one. Mine runs really well and pulls 30 plus coal hoppers, belter! I’m not sure whether it’s up for fostering tho….

For Gods sake wind up that clock on the engine shed. I set my alarm clock by it and ended up 2 hours late for work. Told the boss and he said don't worry about it but don't let happen again. Anyway, get one of those locos before they sell out, you'll only regret it if you don't.

I think they already did sell out, this fostered model is ok for now though. That clocks not worked since that time it got struck by lightening and that scientist and young lad did a bit of time travelling ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Hi Dave I’m keen to measure the tractive effort of a number of locos using the face on the track method mentioned.Just to clarify though is it necessary to remove the front coupling first in case it gives a false reading (I’ve got one spare eye at the moment but could soon run out)

Accurascale is coming out with the class 60 soon and it is cheaper than Cavalex without the DC noise that sounds like arcing. I think Cavalex wanted to release the class 60 before Accurascale and didn't get the bugs out. Keep the day job you are not the man with the Foley voice box, LMAO. I do like the placement of the chain-link fence and I'm glad you said something about that building with the support pears in midair because I was about to ask WTH Dave. I do like the 58 but they weren't worried about streamlining with it were they no wind tunnel tests with that one. You seem to have an outbreak of graffiti men on your layout, and one looks like ladder man in disguise. The cop has a liberty Junction T-shirt under the vest so is that you Dave with the bald head and bad breath, LOL. I know proper chuffed bought one - this one actually seems fine now being honest I think it was my track that needed cleaning 🤫

I have both, and would say the Accura 31 outdoes the Bachmann Deluxe 31 in most regards. Accura didn't do a red-stripe 31, which is why I bought the Bachmann model. Don't get me wrong, the Bachmann 31 is a decent model which in one or two areas betters Accura and I have no regret in buying...but its just not at the same level overall.

I didn't see anything wrong with that 56 giving the lead wagon a little knock for being in the way. My parents used to do that to me when I was a kid. A clip round the head; it was called disciplining. Now they call it child abuse. Never did me no 'arm. That's the problem with the world these days; not enough -child abuse- disciplining. 🤕🤕🤕
