Ian still gets angry about Vennels and her cronies. He is a national treasure for revealing the scandal.

I dunno I'm still mad at him for them even putting borris on thus show and laughing all etonian together as if borris wasn't a terrible person. I'd never heard of him till he was on thus show and it was a great show. If the election was for him to be on this show I'd have voted for him. But they had him on twice. I just don't think it's right to have somone on whos a politician . It gives them a boost and people like matt Hancock and anyone else ..it should not be that a celebrity who's got way more tv time goes against somone like corbyn at the. Time who was on a hilarious beloved TV show ...if he had been in peep show or something people would think that was cool. Or just recognise his face and thereby make him more commonly known. I just feel that's wrong somehow.

26/05/2024 British PM promises to bring back conscription Rishi Sunak claims compulsory national service would revive the “national spirit” Under the scheme, which is expected to cost around £2.5 billion ($3.19 billion) per year, all 18-year-olds would be required to either join the military full-time or volunteer one weekend per month, with community organizations such as the police or National Health Service (NHS)

I really like the idea of national service. Doubt it would go down in the US, where I live, but it would be really good for us. We need wising up, exposure to other cultures, and some humility. In my mind, national service might serve a similar function to university. Teaches you that you don't know crap. I find that characteristic lacking in those who didn't get taught that in college. When you are "forced" to study subjects you have no interest or aptitude for, you learn a lot and develop a kind of grit that is very useful in life. It would also be a great introduction to the world for prospective uni students and help them possibly focus on what they would like to major in.

@@NorthernSeaWitch ah yes. He is going to do the election coverage so the old “impartiality thing” prevented his hosting. Who thinks that the Beeb is impartial anyway… much ado…

@@NorthernSeaWitch ah yes the old impartiality rule. I am guessing that there would have been a lot Sunak bashing so Rajan, slated for election coverage, had to be pulled. What does it matter. The Beeb hasn’t been impartial since its inception. Bring on the noise…🤪

Surbiton Station is It has been considered one of the finest modernist stations in Great Britain and is a Grade II listed building. The Baroness is correct that it's 1930s, though: 1937. I've seen it covered by Geoff Marshall on his KZbin channel.

It has to be asked: How much impartiality can be needed in the run-up to an election where the parties are essentially twins? Has there ever been an election where the probable consequences are so minimal?

What a brainless, sophomoric, bland opinion. If you still genuinely can see no difference between Labour and the Tories after the last decade and a half, you need to see a doctor about the traumatic brain injury you're presumably suffering from.

British media rules are very strict once an election is called. Every minute of coverage of one party has to be balanced with equal time for the opposition. They all have their stopwatches out.
