They had to fire him after this--you can't be skewering people for all their scandals and misdeeds when your host is just as bad (or worse). All the show's moral high ground is gone.

Christine Hamilton basically ruined Angus on hignfu :( not that i needed more reasons to hate her. But sadly the true reason he was fired was because he said there was no more news to come out, and then it came out :( he kind of made a rod for his own back. A shame because he really was great.

Nobody ever hosted this show as well as Angus Deayton did. They should apologise to him, bring him back and pay him big money to resume his position, even after all these years.

He has actually been approached about returning, most notably for the 30th anniversary episode, but he has refused every time. I think his reasons are more personal than anything else, so it might still be a sore spot for him.

Well the way both Ian and Paul skewered him those last couple of weeks, I may not understand a 30 year grudge, but I've never been through THAT.
