As a Springbok supporter, I just LOVE how these Northern Hemisphere guys still underestimate the All Blacks after they've beaten Ireland at their peak. It's like clockwork. I feel like the North starts picking out where they are going to place their trophies before the tournaments start. As a SA supporter I am very concerned about what Razor is going to do with the All Blacks. When he coached the Crusaders it didn't matter if they had 10 All Blacks in the team or zero, they just always found a way to win.

@armin8768 totally agree. The Northern Hemisphere have this obsession of compared the ABs of yesteryear to the current side, the Dan Carters, McCaws, Nonu, Read and co. Once in a generation players. That doesn't mean the ABs don't have qualities players and won't rise again. They have a very good forwards coach in Jason Ryan who the ABs have retained and Razor as the head coach to add his values who knows how to get the best out of players. He's a guy that has proved he can unite a team. It might take the ABs a couple of tests to get into the swing of things but I reckon by the time the championship starts things will start to shape the way Razor wants his side to play. The Hurricanes, Chiefs, Blues have some very good players in it. Players that aren't known to the world yet. One thing Razor will do is he will have players in there specialist positions and he will pick the players that are in form too. England have done nothing yet to really talk about what they are going to do. Premiership Final rugby is not test footy.

We dont even need Will Jordan this year imo we have loads of great wings. Sevu Reece is the best wing in the world right now and its not even close and I reckon he's better allround player than Jordan anyway he just does way more off the ball than Jordan does and can still score crazy tries. Even without Mounga who's the best 10 in the world we can easily beat this England team. The only question mark and weak spot in the team Razor will select for this year is at lock as no way our two top locks in Scott and Patrick stay injury free and the next guys inline are inexperienced and arent even close too international level locks.

The fact that people are still saying that the All Blacks have lost their aura, means that the All Blacks haven't lost their aura. It just proves that nations all around the world are still concerned about playing them, especially in New Zealand. Super Rugby isn't the Crusaders. You still have to deal with the players from the Blues, Hurricanes, Chiefs and Highlanders, who are all LOADED with talent. Not to mention, people like Sam Cane, Ardie Savea and Beauden Barrett coming back from Japan.

As a kiwi, I am so excited about this new era. Firstly the coaching staff is mint. It’s who so many of us have wanted for years now. Secondly, the player pool is very good atm across the board. Third, and lastly, while the Crusaders had a bad season, they were a whisker away from coming right. But aside from them, the resurgence of the Auckland was great. Plus Chiefs and Wellington were not far off. Forget the dominance of the Crusaders, it doesn’t matter. Other teams have stepped up. My guess is also next year the Crusaders will make a better show of it (and I’m from Highlanders country, not a Cantab). Overall, it may take a year or two, but I think under Robinson, the AB’s will be a force to be reckoned with and you’ll see a different level of consistency compared to the previous three years. Let’s go!!

The issue with England is the coaching staff and the lack of cohesion that restricts the players from playing to their potential. By comparison, you’ll see Razor, Hanson and Co, create an environment that brings out the best in the ABs players. What Razor does incredibly well is he makes the sum of the parts greater than the individuals abilities alone, and he creates a purpose and focus that no other coach in NZ has done for some time. As for SA…I think they have the right to be both egoistical and cocky….just released their squad for Wales game and it’s awesome and they haven’t even included any UK or Ireland based players…..I think the gap has closed between North and South Hemispheres but South still lead the way (i.e. SA and NZ)…Ireland fan speaking

Love the confidence. Bring it on England. NZ are always slow starters 1st test of the year, and England could catch us cold, but mark my words. Some of these young guns and ones who will come back from injuries will light up the rugby field once Scott Robinson gets them to gel as a unit. Stoll a force.

The fact that when NZ rugby goes through a transition phase which unfortunately happens after every World Cup. Northern hemisphere teams feel that NZ are weak and vulnerable. So in saying that, you have no excuses. You must win and win well. If not then English Rugby, with all your money, your full stadiums superstar athletes, it's not real it's an illusion, make believe.

*Yawn* Every year without fail from the NH, even during the McCaw team era 'The All Blacks have lost their aura!!'. Y'know who talks about the "aura" 9 times out of 10? Those up north, in nz we only hear about it every year when it inevitably gets mentioned again. And again. And again next year......and the next....

Razor built an intimidating legacy of physicality speed and skill at the Saders that won't be equaled. Razor has capable talent available to him. He will build into them that same attitude that made the Saders legendary. They will attack England at every opportunity and defend like their lives depend on it. Will England have a plan of attack?

The crop of players coming through from the Canes, Chiefs, Blues etc means the ABs are gonna be even quicker, just in the scrum halves lightening quick ball, and Razor and co have formulated a style they want this squad to implement and execute, bruh times were wobbly with Foz but not anymore, this well oiled machine will be a sight to behold

Its funny how they have new and young exciting players, which is cool as I get that, and you want to talk up your team. But they mention AB's with reference to the Crusaders losing so ABs are in transition, which is true. But they don't mention exactly the same as England, good young players coming through. Same as England, I am really excited by our young players, we have pace and power with guys like Sotutu, Peter Lakai starting to knock on the door and play well. Our loosies were not at their best for the last few years, not sure if we had the balance right. But we have at least 6 to 7 loosies with great balance. Then in the backline we have some great skillfull young guys coming through. Nothings a walk in the park at international level, but not sure if a draw in series or a win will be one way for England. This makes test exciting though, its good for them to talk it up, as now Im starting to get excited. Really happy Razor and Ryan are together.

Same comments every 5-10 years from the Northern Hemisphere. England beat the All Blacks every decade. Remember when the ABs had lost their aura in 2007? Then came 2011-2017. These guys are just weird: ‘Japan will be a proper test’ and ‘ALL Blacks are there for the taking’.

We enhanced our aura at the world cup - unprecedented scorelines in pool games and a final everyone except TMO believed we won! As a side note: I have in all my 60 years never seen a team or country as confident as Ireland were - all my life I have had to listen to off shore talk about the All Black arrogance but the Northern hemisphere arrogance is heading for a tour failure.

Yes the ABs are in a transition, a confident England being talked up by commentators is good for us, eases the pressure on the young guys who will wear the black jersey. Definitely be close hard fought battle, NH rugby competitions are perhaps stronger than SH rugby but when you come to NZ and play the ABs you will need to dig deep.

The All Blacks, NZ Rugby have their fundamentals down to a 'T'. I mean when you watch their secondary school, local club, semi-pro clubs, pro clubs, international, sevens rugby, they have imo, the most fundamentally sound player pool. It's like they're molding, the equivalent of modern day Spartans. They have a style to their game that I can't describe, but I know when I see. Lost their 'Aura'? No. But I do think they're in for an evolution.

Hi all I reckon this chat about "writing the AB's off" reflects poor insight. What I see is a generation of excellent players from Kiwi land that has come and gone. Do you guys recall the Gareth Edwards generation? JPR, Bennett and others? The Boks too had their generation. It's just a case of a another generation that has come and gone and now the AB's have to rebuild. With Razor there and a good backbone to work with (Savea, Cody, Roigard and Will Jordan) the AB's will definitely be competitive as always. Cheers

Of course when the corrupt NZRU blocks and messes Razor around twice, and chose their own Foster who's done nothing as a professional head coach ever. Would have kept the record against Argentina & Ireland at home intact and probably won the world cup.
